405 Win Encore Stainless
« on: March 14, 2004, 12:10:32 PM »
Just letting everyone know that Cabelas is selling stainless 405 win barrels exclusively - along with some others.

I already picked up both a blued and a stainless 405 win barrel - looking forward to trying them out soon.  I think I will have the stainless one cut down to 16.5 inches and magna port it - it will do double duty as a pistol / carbine.  The blued one will stay 24 inches and get a factory wood set of furniture with the schable style forearm, a TC scope, and a see-thru scope mount.

Anyone else working with the 405 win in an Encore?  How do you like it?  Factory loads or handloads?
