Need some MARLIN info
« on: March 15, 2004, 10:43:58 AM »
I've seen everything discussed here ranging from political issues, both foreign and domestic to killing Buffalo. Let's talk Marlins! What happened to the 45 and 9mm Camp Carbines? I bought one today and when I went to the Marlin web site for magazine info, I seen that it isn't produced any longer. Am I correct? I simply love it. Does anyone know how it handles cast bullets? I need a scope base for it also if anyone has info on that. I am going to cross reference my Weaver information and see if any of my bases fit this.

Which one did you get? 45 or 9mm? If you got the 45 it will take a standard M1911 Mag. As far as the 9mm I'm not sure which mag it will take. I'm pretty sure that any standard Marlin scope mount base will fit. I have always just used the iron sights on mine.

Got one in 9mm but I had no idea that they weren't made any longer.

Flash,
If my memory serves me I believe the 9mm Camp Rifle uses S&W double stack mags. Such as the 59 series.

Thanks, I found one on ebay and you're absolutely correct. I also found out that the scope rail is the same as the 336.
