Got news about my Beretta AL391 Urika
« on: March 15, 2004, 07:19:31 PM »
Last December, I sent my AL391 to BerettaUSA because of FTE/FTL problems.  After all this time, some parts changed, and evaluations, Beretta decided to replace my shotgun.  I will not be getting an exact replacement since the model I had is now no longer manufactured.  I will be getting the newer version of the AL391 HardWoods HD with a 26" bbl.  I hope that I will no longer have the same FTE/FTL problems.  The new shotgun will be at home in the next two weeks.  I can't wait to have it in my hands!

Randy,

I did ask about what the problem was and the lady that was talking to me said that there was something wrong in my shotgun and two other ones that are being evaluated or replaced.  I will not be able to get the same model I had (AL391 Hard woods HD, 24" bbl).  They are replacing it with a newer version of it in Hardwoods HD, 26" bbl.  Will this be the AL391 Urika Optima?  hmmm... Diferent choques?  I've just can't wait to see it.

This is the first time it happens to me and Beretta is demonstrating that they will take care of their customers in this kind of situations.

I have to admit that I missed my shotgun and I was getting desperated to see it back.  I will definitely let you know how the other shotgun operates once I take it to the test.

Randy,

I've called Beretta again on Friday and I ask about the delay on sending the new shotgun to me.  They responded that the gunsmiths were building my shotgun.  I said "What???"  I thought I was getting a new one instead.  They responded that the body of the new shotgun I am getting is new but they are salvaging good parts from my old shotgun and installing them in it.

My old shotgun was actually a new shotgun so I don't have any problems with that as long as they don't put back the "problem part" back.

I would have to assume that the gunsmiths are going to test my gun so much that it will be a proven shotgun once is ready to be shipped back.  And of course, again they said "two more weeks!"

LJB:
Recon the problem was with a short ejection port? Or even a deminsional problem with the insides of the receiver??

New receiver and your parts (hand fitted) you may have a custom built gun

I'll be waiting and watching for your posts.

Chech out this guys problem on his 391.
