Now that we've discussed movie inaccuracies, I'd like to point out one of my favorite, old TV shows.
It was called "The Loner" with Lloyd Bridges. He carried a Remington 1858 revolver and a Spencer carbine, both of which he actually had to reload! :eek: Of course, lately, all movies are well supplied with Italian made replicas, but that's the only OLD show I can think of that tried to be authentic.

Did anyone else see this episode of Wyatt Earp? The Bad Guy grabs the girl to use as a shield and tells Wyatt to drop his gun, a classic plot twist I had seen at least a thousand times in Westerns. The Hero always throws his gun on the ground, right? Wyatt raises the Buntline special and says:"You can't hide behind her, Black Bart. She's too small." BOOM. I must have been about ten. Made a BIG impression. Don't know why I thought of that.

Watch the movie "The Mountain Men". Very well done with respect to period correct and loadin etc.

I realize this is a little on/off topic for this post but I just had the misfortune of viewing "The Last Castle" with R. Redford and a few others in it. It was about a military prison uprising. The part I found most "unbelieveable" was the guards using shotguns and "bean bag" rounds were able to shoot prisoners in the head from 100+ yards at will.

If you haven't sen the movie don't bother, it's 2+ hours of your life you'll never get back. :eek:
