Anshutz trigger in Rem700?

I have been toying around with building up my old Remington 700 into a silhouette rifle, and came across Champion Shooter is selling a conversion kit that will adapt an Anshutz trigger for a Rem 700.

Has anyone tried this?  How well does it work?  Would a Jewell trigger be a better choice?

I know more than one person who has done this in years passed.  Use to people made an aluminum hanger to do this but now you can buy ready made hangers to fit the anschutz trigger.   The anschutz trigger has a weak point especially if you are going to use a Wolff firing pin spring.  There is a shaft and bearing that  will not hold up for a long time.  This is what I've heard  a few times.  Smooth trigger though.   I have two hangers and an Anschutz trigger just laying in my trigger drawer.   Also have a Jewel trigger there also.   I have found that the Timney trigger for the 700 is a very good one and I have one on my hunter gun.  If you know how the factory trigger can be tuned to be a very good two pound trigger that feels like a one pound trigger.   Have to disassemble it and hone the sears some.  If you are interested in a hanger contact me on the pm and we will discuss it.    D Weathersbee

Not to interfere with the thread and get too far afield, but the Timney people told me at SHOT that they were developing a new, two-stage match trigger for the 700 and it will be available shortly...

Is the Timeny going to be a real 2-stage or fake one like the "2-stage" Jewell?

Dan,

I asked that question and was told that it will be an actual two-stage and engagement would start to change with first stage movement.
There was no way to find out whether that was for real (or if there would be independent adjustment) as:

1. They didn't have -- and I haven't seen -- a prototype and
2. I was talking with a marketing guy who was either not fully up to speed on it or didn't want to say.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing what they develop.
Even though they don't carry the big name, it's been my experience that their triggers are pretty decent.

OT -- do you know anything about Blaser R93s? Get to me at home if you do.

What two stage triggers can legally be used in Hunter for a Rem 700?  Anybody using one?

Would that not be ANY trigger that takes 2 lbs to drop the hammer???

Just wondering b/c people are using the 2 stages in sb hunter all the time...
