LAM stock 270?
« on: March 18, 2004, 02:27:32 PM »
hi to all/ just bought a new 270 handi.
it has a laminated, non-checkered stock....is this something new??
i thought the handi in 270 was to come with a std hardwood stock.
it is a fine looking piece of wood, esp for 180 dollars (new).

should be fine for when i go out west for elk/muleys

Brown-trout,
I bought a 7mm-08 last Dec. , it has a non checkered laminated stock, in cinnamon or light "walnut" finish. You almost can't tell it is laminated until you take the fore end  or the buttstock off. Is yours also "brown" finished, or is it the Ultra multi-colored laminate.

I just ordered wood (adult) stocks for my youth model Sportster. The Ulta Mag "green" laminated stocks were almost double  ($65&$35)) the cost for the "walnut" finished stocks ($35&$15).
I'll post when they come in as to whether they are plain wood or brown laminate....

I bought a .243 for my son last Christmas and was surprised to find a laminated stock when I went to pick up the gun.  It is cinnamon as well and I think it is a beatiful stock.  I am going to be ordering 1 or 2 guns next month and I hope to get the same thing.
