Any really good deals on surplus 30/06 components?

I will also post this in the military surplus rifle forum, but does any have any information on outfits (outside the usual catalog houses)  having really good deals on surplus powder, bullets and cases.  

Right now I am looking for 30/06 cases, 150 grain fmj bullets and surplus ball powder for that combination to use in an M-1 rifle.

Tom:  I just saw something in the Shotgun News about 308 mil-surp components - just the pulled bullets, which are the same in both the M1 and the M14, 147 gns I think.  HTH.  Mikey.

Your local gun shows are a good source of M1 rifle ammo components.

The easily available/cheap pulled 147 grain M80 bullets are NOT exactly like the 150 grain M2 .30 caliber bullets, but they are close enough to shoot and work just fine for M1 rifles.

The M80 specification bullets use guilding-clad mild steel jackets compared to the guilding metal lead core M2 bullets.  They are also boat tailed and have a sharper ogive than the M2.

However, I've loaded and fired several thousands of them in the last few years, and they shoot just fine in several M1 and M1A rifles.  Beyond 300 yards, they shoot a little bit flatter than the M2 bullet, but still close to GI ammo.

Surplus powder from Israeli 7.62x51mm machine gun ammo will also load and shoot just fine in the M1.

For what we will be doing with them, either bullet would do fine.  Not using them for competition, just casual plinking.  Price and continued availability would be the factors.

www.gibrass.com/    www.hitech.com/  , both have surplus powder, brass and mil spec bullets for sale. Jeff Bartlet at gi brass is a nice fella to deal with. He has feelers all over the world for over-run powders.

WC 844 is what I've been using in .223, .308 and 30-06 garand loadings. Also useful in 7-08, $64.00/8lb jug uses H-335 for loading data.

I think we are going to be putting a powder order in with Jeff Bartlett.  I like his vaiving the hazmat on 6 or over jugs.   His prices seem pretty good.  That other url to hitech.com did not work, it brought up some outfit that looks like it is engaged in some other type of industry.

Graf and Sons usually stockpiles military spec brass.  Im not positive if they have 06 brass, but I do believe you can get pulled components from them.

Wideners sometimes has a special on pulled bullets.  I have a 1000 box of pulled M2 Ball bullets.  they shoot good in my Garand and 03A3.  I think they have a 147 fmj pulled on special now.
