Howa 1500 lightning stock and recoil pad.
« on: March 20, 2004, 05:35:20 PM »
Does anyone know what the synthetic stock is that comes standard on the howa 1500 lightning rifles? I have heard Butler creek but am unsure. The reason is that I want to find a good recoil pad (pachmayr or limbsaver) that will install on this particular stock with the least amount of trouble.

Bearwolf :  I had one come into the pawn shop and it was in a bell & carlson stock but dont know if it was a aftermarket synthetic, the lamanated is a Boyds, Legacy Sports International is who I would contact to see for sure 1-703-548-4837 but after looking at Legacys web site you can get the synthetic stock for $65.00 and that wont touch a bell & Carlson so I am sure its something else. :D    JIM

After shooting 38 rounds of the 150grn cor lokts at the range yesterday, I think the 65$ for that particular stock and recoil pad is a big ripoff. The bruise on my shoulder will prove that.   Thing kicks a heck of a lot more than my 270 does, which is in a much lighter rifle.

I'm pretty sure its not a bell and carlson stock, as its not as refined as one would expect from a b & c.
