Chamber adaptors are a neat way to turn your centerfire .223 or .22-250 rifle into a 22LR  rimfire for economical target practice, pest control, or small game hunting. Insert a .22LR cartridge in the adaptor, then load the adaptor into your chamber... and you're ready to fire .22LR!

Sounds very interesting, I just have a couple of questions.  Would the adaptor get ejected 4 feet over your shoulder like a spent case every time you opened the action?  How do you get the spent .22 case out of it after you fire it, do you have to poke it out with something?  Looks like the little barrel (cylinder) that goes in the adaptor after the .22 shell would be real easy to loose in the field.

It seems to me that it wouldn't work well in a Handi rifle. Those that I have read about required a broken shell extractor(IIRC) to remove the adapter.

Another issue is that 22 LR is .223, as 22.250 and .223 measure .224. They have conversion kits for specific rifles like the AR-15 and Colt Gov. pistols. Any generic device would make me nervous :?
Ohhhh, I hate when that happens

That block firing pin inside the adapter to convert it to rim fire is quite heavy compared to a regular firing pin. I would think you would either break or damage the rifle's inertia firing pin????? I would not use one, besides it looks like a pain to load and remove empty 22 cases??????

But there is a single shot system that uses a Ramset 22 ammo for power activated tool to drive nail into concrete in a prepped case to fire round pellets hand seated into the neck. The 22 power case id offset to allow for a centerfire firing pin. Thes are made for most calibers with round lead pellets. My friend das one for a 340Wby to shoot grouse with, they are good for 30yards.

You send in a fired case and they chamber it for 22 power tool cases. Most any caliber. They are not that hard to make if you have some tools.  A simple 22 chamber reamer can be made from regular steel on a mini lath.
