Bought 2.5 inch barrel from D. W. directly but had problems.
« on: March 22, 2004, 07:29:17 AM »
Must have been on the shelf and it had a couple threads that turned out to be bent up. I removed it and then couldn't get my original barrel back in either. I only had hand turned this thing in but apparently I need a tap and dye job done on the gun and the new barrel.

First... I called Dan Wesson Arms up a few months ago when this happened and they gave me the size but when I finally tracked one down just the dye was over $90.00 and I was curious if you can even send a handgun through the mail or UPS? I'm thinking that since the problem was with them sending this defective barrel to me in the first place they should be willing to let me send the gun to them to repair.

Is the thread size used in Dan Wesson 357's something most gunsmiths would have on hand? I've just been too busy to follow this thing up. Since our state just passed a concealed carry law the other day I realized I had never finished addressing my gun problem.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks... Gary

I would just find out the thread size and start calling gunsmith's or even machine shop's. to see who could do it the cheapest. Cal
