Flavorings with a bit of coffee
« on: May 02, 2023, 04:47:30 AM »
I don't usually have anything in coffee
except water and coffee, but I received
a container of Great Value french vanilla
creamer powder so I thought I'd try
it out.
Nope. Strange tasting stuff. I went ahead
and tried it on 2 different days to make
sure I wasn't just having an off day.
I couldn't recommend it myself

A couple of weeks ago I was given a
couple of dozen of some small vials of
some liquid creamer that says International
Delight that's fairly good, but I've used
most of that with oatmeal besides the
few cups of coffee I've dosed with it.
I'd probably buy that if I were so inclined
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

I never liked any added flavors to my coffee, especially not that Hazel nut stuff.

...But then I got the Covid, and for some time, my coffee offered very little flavor..tasteless and blah..

..So in desperation, I tried some Hazel nut dry creamer....and it made all the difference.  Now, I usually use the Hazel nut creamer of
some sort or another.  Coffee just doesn't seem to taste as good without it !

The other half LOVES that stuff, rarely are there not 2 large bottles in the refridgerator.

Like flavored ground coffee, I will use it maybe two or three times over two or three months.
It does make coffee that sat in a coffee pot too long with the heat on, tolerable.

With my taste buds heading towards 90 percent ceasing to exist, they add a bit of a difference, at times.
My friends wife, who gained a huge amount of weight due to cancer medicine many years back, he say she just sits now most of the time eating snack food, reading and drinking flavored coffee creamer with a hint of coffee; same for her daughter who are 100 lbs. over weight.

That stuff, besides not being good for one's health, packs the pounds on far worse than using true coffee cream. >:(

Always preferred my coffee black and strong but quit drinking it back in 2003. I miss it and the marlboro reds smoked along with it early in the mornings. Never tasted the same when I quit smoking and gave up on drinking coffee because the two just seemed to fit together.

Yes; it seems that many folks went through that same withdrawal taste rearrangement, when they quit tobacco.

...But in any case, congratulations for quitting the "backy", because I understand IT WAS NOT EASY !

Thanks,

It really wasn't as tough as some people go through. Spent a couple of years on the road from one drilling site to another along with field offices in between drinking lots of coffee along with a two pack a day habit and not eating right. Was headed to Seagraves, TX when I started having chest pains and problems breathing, drove back to Seminole to the hospital and after lots of tests they said it was stress and not a heart problem. The doc walked in and asked a few questions and told me I would live a lot longer without the cigs, cut back on the coffee, eat more and quit working 7 days a week or cut back on my hours. Quit the cigs and coffee and starting taking time to eat better, cutting back on work hours wasn't an option but changed my perspective on how to deal with long hours and stress. Needless to say I'm still alive and enjoying watching the grandkids grow up.

Still..congrats!  Good show!

I have a brother, an operating engineer all his life..whon also smoked cigarettes all his life, along with his wife. He must have been
about 50, when they both quit the weed.

Never too late to stop!  Although his wife passed about 6 years ago..he is now 90..and seems to be doing good for his age.

Incidentally, his wife died about a month after mine passed..and my wife never smoked.

Well, I caved in; I went to the ABRA body shop for Sharon's car.
They had coffee , serve your self, and little six ounce cups.
It was weak, what I call Minnesota Brown, SO, they had those little vanilla coffee creamers there, so I used one. 8)

Never liked any flavor in my coffee. Just a dab of milk for color. I have had to about quit drinking coffee due to it causing heartburn issues.

I had some other gifted to me
Friday that was equally as gross
to me. Pretty much chocolate
milk by my taste buds. I did
try it out of fairness, and the
rest went GLUG GLUG GLUG
bye bye
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .
