It is cheaper to use natural gas for cooking, heating, and water heating than to use electricity. Why? Because why pay the power company to burn natural gas, then transport that electricity to your house, when you can get the gas straight from the supplier yourself. A good gas furnace will still beat a heat pump for heating.
The greenies haven't figured this out yet.
You can build all the windmills and solar panels you want, but you still have to get the power to the grid, then you have to have some kind of backup in case of calm days, or cloudy days. Backup is what, natural gas, coal, or nuclear or expensive batteries.
All the windmills and solar panels have to be made using fossil fuels for plastics, melting the metal, and such, as well as melting the aluminum for the power lines.
Germany is blending hydrogen gas made from water and mixing it with natural gas (20%) with no effect on the burner tips. They make the gas when the wind is blowing their windmills but power usage is down so the excess electricity is used to make hydrogen gas. This works well if the windmills are near the ocean or water.
Green energy is going to take 30-50 years to work out. Not going to happen by 2035. Everything needed is not in place and will take years to get there.
If every car and every appliance in America were electric, the power production would have to about double. Not going to happen.
