Pennsylvania hunting lodge..
« on: May 11, 2023, 05:40:24 PM »
i spent several hours in company of 4 "good old boys" on Tuesday, ..Christians all..while my son did a photo coverage, drone flights and made some advertising brochures.
This lodge is in Elk county, PA, where all kinds of game abounds, .....deer, bear, elk, turkey, coyotes, fox, coon..you name it.

Don't have to hunt, can be a great family getaway..  I mean get away..closest small town, that has a convenience store/station, is perhaps 20 miles away, through twisting mountain roads.  Hills and valleys so sharp, there is no cell service for miles..

It is available for a family vacation,  though they are booked into September... Great for just game watching..

im not much on game watching unless its through a  scope and that building is beautiful but not my idea a hunting camp. hell id bet no one skips a shower or drinks Jack out of a styrofoam cup or goes out side on the buck pole at 4am to carve the backstraps off a deer to cook up for breakfast. My camp is probably smaller then one of the bedrooms in that mansion but its paid for. dues are paid by every one that hunts there (all relatives) 500 bucks a year that covers taxes gas for the gen propane and food in deer season. Id bet its more then that a day to stay there.

Another view  of the lodge, beautifully set in the Allegany (Appalachain) mountains.  He working in that area today, likely with another lodge or Air B&B...
..But I am spending part of the day down in my woods, with a firearms instructor...who will be training some police there today.

I know what you mean, but the lodge is not only for hunters, but for folks who want to "get away" for a week or two..  No cell phone, nothing to bother from the "outside" Of course, it is likely to cost more than you or I wish to pay, but for some, that is no problem.

My land and cabin is for full family use..no charge ever, but the whole family helps in maintenance..part of the joy of camping.
