Marlin Texas Cancels High School Graduation

Out of 33 high school seniors, only 5 are eligible to graduate. Never heard of such a thing, so I looked up the towns (population 5,000+) demographics.

Turns out that ethnically Marlin is 27% white, 46% black, 26% Hispanic, and 1% something else.

Most of the population isn't, and never have been married, and most families don't have a father in the home, and the town is over 60% below the poverty line.

  Even the total seems off.  When I graduated, the town was far less than 5,000, but still we had a graduating class of 96.  Must be a high
  dropout rate also.

   Maybe they figure 'gang life' is more rewarding...

With those demographics, school administrators probably figured easiest way to avoid a drive by shooting!

When I hear someone ask the question....Who was the worst President ever, LBJ comes to mind. Now, this was before Walter the old man puppet with dementia was elected. (OOPS) I meant to say selected.

  LBJ was not elected senator honestly, back in 1948.  He stole that election with the help the political gangster... the "Duke of Duval"..

  No secret that the senatorial election hinged upon Duval county.. LBJ knew it and so did others in politics..

  It seems that disappearing ballot boxes, which returned stuffed with votes for LBJ was the name of the game.. Without that "victory" in 1948,
  he likely would never been considered for vice president...then president.

  Obviously the "vice" part applies..

  So, as a result of this robbery, our country has been damaged terribly..along with many black families !

  More appropriate term for LBJ's stupid plan should be .."LBJ's war FOR poverty"..

  HJe figured "keep them poor and keep them begging"..for more government handouts, that is !

I don't think he did for that reason. LBJ was a crooked ol' sob, but I don't think he was that smart. He did steal the election in Duval county and ruffled a lot of feathers.

I think his war on poverty was a dust settler, and he needed congress to vote on it. He signed it, but he didn't do it on his own.
