I'd have to wonder if the slide 9mm slide spring is heavy enough for that weight and velocity.

My brother did and wishes he had never heard of them. He was supposed to get in touch with them today and show them what happened when shooting them in his 9mm carbine last Saturday.

He has previously sighted his new scope in with Hornady 147 gr and had a one-inch group at 100yds, off the lead sled. His first shot with the 185-grain Seismic round was touching the bull at 4 oc. The second and third were nowhere to be found on the target. The next round caused flame, smoke and powder to smack him in the face. He found the round stuck halfway down the barrel, and the two piece casing destroyed. He later found the primer in the action when cleaning it. The casings ALL had bulges where the aluminum and Stainless joined. This was not a squib. It was a failure of the design IMO. These rounds are specifically designed for a carbine, but they say they can be fired in a full size 9mm. I get good results with with 147 grain FMJFT slugs in my 9mm, and this is what I carry in the woods.

Evidently a lot of folks.  Hornady, Federal, Underwood all offer premium “critical defense” ammo at that price or higher.

True. I "traded" for 240 rounds of Spear Gold Dot 115 grain HP 9mm in boxes of 20. They were all priced 35 dollars a box.
I would'nt' have paid that much, but my trade was a good one.

Dee, what were you shooting before you retired from duty. If I remember correctly, it was the 357. What type of ammo were you using in your duty firearm? Make ,weight and such., and did you folks change ammo in the winter when people were wearing heavier clothing?
Just curious.

Started out with a 4" Colt Diamondback with 125 grain SJHPs.Then a couple of Model 19 Smiths, tried a couple of Colt Pythons. Same loads for all. Used a Smith 357 in a disagreement in early 77 with good results.

Then later in 77 I kept a Commander I'd built in 45acp stoked with hot 200 grain JHPs. But on June 19 1978 I got into a disagreement with a couple a Dallas outlaws over a stolen 78 Buick. When the investigation was done, I sold the 45 and went back to a magnum with the same old load. Never carried another 45acp on duty.

In the late 80s tried a couple of 659 Smiths, but bought the first 686 Smith to hit Amarillo. Then when the Glock 40 showed up, carried a 23 until retirement.
Then back to the 686 same ole load.

I built a bunch of custom Colts, and a couple of Kimbers, but stayed with the magnums, and occasional Glock 23s.

Sig I bought shoots better for me than most anything at my age, but I went back to the double tap shooting cause it's a 9mm.

Think I'll stick with my .40's or .45's. Cast for both calibers, so practice and plinking is reasonable, and for attitude adjustment, 165gr for the .40, and 200gr out of the .45 should do the trick.
