Heard on the news earlier that some of
the people in Hawaii are sueing various
agencies that they blame for the big fire

I've heard several times that the cause
was arson, but I don't know for sure

Did their infrastructure not take into
account having any major fires at
some point ?

Ran across a news piece that their power company was responsible for the fires with shoddy equipment that needed repairing/replacing. No idea on the validity of those claims but I was under the impression that their electric power company was state owned and regulated much like PG&E that services Kalifornia.

On the news a couple of days ago, it said water wasn't available because the electricity went out, as did the 911 service. Seems all systems failed.
But I also heard that drought resistant grasses, and scrubs have been used used for decades by landscapers, building contractors, and homeowners that are highly flammable.
The annual rainfall for Mai is less than 15 inches per year.

Don't know any absolutes myself, because I've
never been there, and never wanted to go.
Every photo or film or video I've ever seen of
the region showed lots of dry grasses and
tree limbs and such that needed to be cleared
or had a controlled burn done regularly.
I can remember on the old Hawaii five 0
show that those sugar cane fields went up
like gunpowder when set alight
Seems to be something strange that the place
went up like a tire recycling plant so quickly,
then all those volcanoes are spewing red hot molten
rock regularly . Aren't the buildings and structures
there built with fire and tropical storms and
such in mind ?

Something a bit off kilter? A town with deep ocean frontage...runs out of water to fight their fires with? Not one fire fighting, water carrying plane in the islands?

Found out why the sirens weren't sounded. They are for Tsunami warnings. The sirens tell people to move to higher ground.

Current toll (8/17) 111 dead, over a thousand missing..yet the MSM doesn't reflect very much alarm..

I recall how they dumped on GW Bush, at the very start of Katrina...some even implying that he purposely had the levee near ward #9 undermined.

Now, if a similar death toll were to occur in New York City, Houston, Los angeles, Chicago, Dallas or any other large city...would the administration and
the MSM be nearly as mum about it ?

Two very different reasons why Bumbles hasn't visited either East Palestine or Lahinia..

1) East Palestine..heavy Republican..so he could gain nothing with a visit !

2) Hawaii ..very heavy Democrat.. He figures he already has them "in his pocket", so there is still no gain can to be had from a visit !

Now we hear that any land sales will be rejected..not allowed. Charlie Kirk suggests many Hawiians are nature worshippers, and the feds may see this as an opportunity to grab the island, and make it off-limits..same as ANWR..

I actually watched some "news " today.
A rare thing for me anymore.

Don't know if what they showed was true
to life, they showed a huge fire burning in
the background of what looked like a slum
in Haiti, with weeds and brush about 6-8 ft
high closer to the camera position.
If that's true to life, it's no wonder it went
up like a can of gasoline with the high winds

Can anybody give me an explanation on how a book, Fire and Fury can come out the day after the wildfire's?? Timing is incredible!! Like Pelosi's husband knowing when to buy a stock, just a day or 2 before the government signs a contract with a computer company!! Awesome!!

Yeah....ain't it curious? The ENTIRE Pacific Ocean in the backyard, and "they" run out of water to fight the fire with? Seems to me that there's some governmental agency heads that should already be rolling. Let's hope all those that lost everything get a MASSIVE civil lawsuit filed and rolling against those that are in authority. Something with an actual and punitive damages claim equal to the entire monetary value of Hawaii.

Oh.....and I still haven't heard any news that the Federal Emergency MIS-management Agency has even started responding.

Several sites, (look it up) are saying a major reason for total failure there was little to zero water in the hydrant system.

From what I read, their water system pressure is dependent onthe electrical system which the fire had already destroyed; stupidity has just rewards.

It was also reported the fire was so hot, some bodies may never be identified as the body is totally destroyed.

I know for a fact that I've seen big
boats similar to tug boats equipped with
big pumps and nozzles for firefighting
in videos and movies about different things
in New York city
Didn't this place in Hawaii have at least
one of those available ?
I know that Houston used to have
several for use along the docks and
the Ship Channel

Still, fires can be extinguished with any water. Ocean salt water
murky lake water like these helicopters here use for brush fires
etc. etc.
Doesn't necessarily have to be treated municipal potable water
from the system
A good many fires around here are extinguished with a
toxic foam. They just got through with a major fire and
explosions a few miles away at a large paint manufacturer,
and the foam is everywhere.
They didn't want the massive fire and explosions, but
they didn't want the foam either. What do you do?
Can't use water on flammable chemicals

It seems like all we hear are excuses..

Excuses of why the water system didn't work, why the fire got to the town, why peopkle were not properly warned..and finally why th esirens were not sounded.

OK.... I can understand why the sirens may not have been used.

....But look at the size of the town, is there any reason why a couple fire trucks or police cars with bull horns could not have driven a couple of the major streets, telling people to evacuate?

Looks like the people of Hawaii are as
lackadaisical as many of these people in
this area about having an emergency
bag/ supplies ready to go.
I saw a bunch wandering around in
shorts and flip flops and nothing else.
Reminds me of the people here after
a tornado

From what I read, it's to prevent the vultures from snapping up property for dimes-on-the-dollar, from landowners who are still in shock.

It has been suggested that the water commissioner worships water, and didn't want to throw it on a fire..

Probably not the most stupid thing the "climate change" Gaia worshippers have ever done..
