   Perhaps I am missing your point, but I see it a bit differently.  It seems that yes, the left figures that life is not fair, but tha is where we
  conservatives start to part company with them.
   
    The left seems to think they must try to level that field by government fiat legislation, which also impinges upon the rights of the more capable
     or talented.

   When talent and creativity are squelched, this only leads toward a mediochre society!

    Today's left (neo-Marxists) as opposed to classical liberals, tend to lend their support to a "superior, leadership class".

   beyond  their school classes, which seem slanted from grade school up.
   
  Most of them are people who have no idea what hard work is.. never worked a farm or ranch, or hard labor in construction...and they are
   convinced they will be the "Marxist elite" who will never have to work.

Are those examples the only kind of "hard work"? If so, then I expect that most people "have no idea". Most people, I am willing to bet, have never/will never work on a farm or ranch nor will they work on an oil rig or construction.

   Obviously, those were only a few examples, but In didn't think I would have to elaborate more than that..
    Of course, there are lumber jacks, garbage collectors, concrete finishers, steeplejacks, crab fishermen, arborists, heavy equipment mechanics, hoof trimmers, commercial laundry workers, pipeliners, dairymen, electrical linemen, scrap yard workers, underwater welders and a few thousand more job categories....

  .... I just didn't think I would have to enumerate hard work jobs, since we observe them.. and are or were, doing them every day.
