Cruzin the Decades
« on: August 26, 2023, 09:03:13 AM »
I was heading to town to get some Crabgrass Killer and on the College radio station Cruzin the Decades came on.

It is a show that plays from a huge collection acquired by a gent, six figures, that has recorded music from as far back as such a thing existed.
They play one song from each decade starting over one hundred years ago, early stuff is fascinationg.
One song they played from 1915 was Any girls is summer fun  part of one line was "the next one will make you forget all about her".
Another from the Thirties was Struttin my Stuff, where a line was "you wanna keep your better you better keep him home; I didn't strutt my stuff and my man left me so now I am struttin my stuff"

The fact the show says it is broadcast on AM, FM and Short Wave surprised me as they even mention Short Wave stations they were broadcast on.
Interesting what you find on small town or non-commercial stations.
