Hate to say it but that is one way to cut the quantity of firearms available to the population of this USA.

I used to have a dealers license. Then, I got a letter from the ATF advising me that beginning on a certain date that they could conduct without notice warrantless searches of my home, any time they wished to inventory any guns in my possession .
That same day I called ATF requesting shipping directions of my sales records, and my dealers license to ATF and  that I no longer wanted to be a dealer.
The next day I shipped the box of documents. This was almost 40 years ago.

Under this new rule any person who sells even a single firearm for any profit to any person, including family can be classified as engaged in the business of selling firearms an in turn forced to get a federal license ,conduct a background check, and complete gun registration paper work under federal law .   My question is how will  they track a cash sell ?  and many heirloom guns are passed down  thru the family with no money changing hands .

From the article:
Quote
the FBI also called the manufacturer of Hughes’s gun safe. The company willingly provided the safe’s passcode to the FBI after receiving proof of a valid warrant.
Typical sensationalist headline.

Liberty just cut its throat on this and as word spreads just a guess that they will pay steep price for doing it.

The only reason they will pay a price is that articles like this spin it in a way that portrays a false impression.  They complied with the terms of a valid warrant - legally they had no choice in the matter.

The simple way to solve that problem is to make it with a combination that the owner can set himself. Then the FBI will have a reason to destroy the safe and contents.

Liberty safes have that ability, but I bet not many take advantage of it.
