Doves 2023
« on: September 10, 2023, 04:50:49 PM »
Anybody done any dove hunting this year?
I haven't spoken to anybody I know personally
that has gone out.
All of our traditional places are long gone
forever. The housing boom and wild real estate
market and all that
Should have been a banner year for people
with a place to go that had water
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

Lots of dove here, but I haven't hunted any. Might try this new shotgun out.

Funny-strange
Haven't seen any of the usual doves
out at the street picking up grit. Usually
10 or 12 every day,  mourning doves and
collared both

These birds and animals sure have the
hunting calendar down
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

I killed 5 yesterday, and 7 this morning. My new to me old shotgun is a perfect fit for this old man.

That's a good thing
Some of the better places I've dove
hunted were cattle ranches and grain
farms. Used to be a 2500-2700 acre
maize farm across from my friend's
house we had permission to hunt that
was really productive. It's all luxury
homes now. Usually a good many
fat pigeons mixed in with the doves
at the cattle ranches I've hunted
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .
