I hav ebeen told that Estes Park and all surrounding it for many miles, is beautiful territory.  It's running in 30s at night and mostly 60s days, here.
No serious frost yet, but I expect it any morning. !
If you don't want the truth, don't ask me.  If you want something sugar coated...go eat a donut !  (anon)

Been in south central Col in the mountains, and
thought I would casually stick an arrow in a elk.

HaHa.  Hard to draw a bow when you can't even
draw a breath.
Yeah,  it's all pretty if you're not struggling to
breathe normally like a river bottom rat used to
near sea level

Did get a good lesson from a former co-worker
that was from the western Co border. We talked
about hunting, and naturally it got around to elk.
I remarked that I didn't have anything bigger than
a 308, and he gave me a funny look.
He'd worked on a big ranch and he was telling me
that many an elk and mule deer had been shot
out of a truck window with a 30/30 lever and
35 rem, and that it was mostly out-of-staters
that needed the big guns and tried the 500
yard shots
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .
