Me too, and it is not just because of hunting season.  The photos explain why Letchworth State Park is so often voted, "the best state park in America"..

My son often uses it's beauty for backdrop/scenery for photo shoots..

The trees are beautiful here this year. Especially with the last couple days of sunshine.

The same  up here; we went on a drive around lakes up here and I do not remember such vivid color in 20 years.

I have heard that the bright colors are brought on by the balance of light and darkness leading up to autumn.

The colors are there all along, but by end of summer, they are brought on by the leaching away of the chlorophyl present in the leaves.

Yes leaves change colors when the amount of daylight shortens. Although its believed that warm sunny days and cool night without frost, brings out more brilliance in the leaves.

I think the mineral content in the soil has a lot to do with it.
