How could we not see that coming? It's the only way the Communists can get rid of all of the "disinformation".

Glenn Beck was saying this morning that it takes affect in a week or so unless I was listening to an older episode.

They certainly have their foot in the door with censorship on social media sites. Conservative talk show hosts have been banned from YouTube when YouTube finds their message not in line with the talking heads of national media sources.

That rumor has been floating around ever since the internet was started. Prior to the internet back in the old Arpanet days they totally controlled it and yet the internet came along and we've been doing mostly what we want on it ever since.

Well they've been censoring it for years, pushing website's like Facebook to control what's being said. My thinking is, what the government wants control probably means they don't want the truth out for everyone to see and judge.
We keep trying peace, it usually doesn't work!!Remember(12/7/41)(9/11/01) gypsyman

There's some places I've been that posts "disappear "
somehow,  and some that are impossible to log in
at times. Repeatedly get the " SERVER IS BLAH BLAH.  ."
etc. etc.
Mostly when there's negative comments about
joe bidet or referring to border jumpers or sexual
deviant perverts and such.  Anything not toeing
the politically correct line, or that might hurt
sensitive feelings

That would almost certainly be the site owners doing the deleting due to their political leanings. Here I have the ability and authority to delete anything I want to delete and to ban anyone I want gone.

But I tend to let most all speech go without messing with it. Mostly I only delete personal attacks and name calling posts and I make no secret that I'll do that. I even give a lot of leeway on that but when it gets blatant I act.

Well I can understand anybody that owns a site
policing it in a fair manner

I was on "probation " at one for criticizing the
chinese for their policies and the American
politicians for sucking up and enabling and
making excuses. No lies or profanity or anything
like that. The moderator said I was inflammatory.

Oh well

Such comments here sure won't get ya anything but additional replies. I don't disagree with what you said at all. That sort of speech is fine here.

JMHO- I imagine it's like many other things in 2023
Probably a chinee-owned site if the layers are stripped away

There's several that I no longer frequent
Mostly outdoor sites.
Many are mostly gear whores.
Some are just snobs and have the dozen or
so in the clique.
Most enable and make excuses for whatever.

It gets obvious after a while

What are: gear whores?

Gotta admit that's a new one on me, never heard that before.

What are: gear whores?

I may be the only one that says that

It's my term for people that always have the
newest trendiest ( usually most expensive)
stuff from slamazon and/or the high end
yuppie retailers.
I noticed that trend years ago when I started
seriously bowhunting with a group of people
I became acquainted with.
The man I knew and myself had older proven
gear and didn't have any problems hunting and
camping. Some brought the newest and greatest
gear and most had all new everything each year.
There's only a few I still hunt and fish with and
we don't buy all new everything each year.
I started calling people that feel that they need
the newest greatest improved everything to
kill an animal or catch a fish or sleep outdoors
overnight " gear whores "
Only other people are impressed by new
"neato" everything bought for only a few
weeks of use before "upgrading ".
The animals and fish could care less.
About the same for the popularity of the
"unboxing " videos.    I can't grasp it myself.

Years ago they used to say keeping up with
the joneses or similar

Yessir- "gear whores "   :D

It's more like Microsoft is controlling the WWW. I'm a Linux user mostly.  Linux basic operating systems are free for the download. Microsoft is not. Windows (microsoft) downloads upgrades and other junk as it see's fit. Linux leaves that kind of stuff up to the user. It lets YOU decide how to access and maintain the WWW. I have no virus protection on my Linux distros. Haven't needed to have any. Try that with Microsoft (Windows).

If you want to run big, bloated games and such, Microsoft is the king. If you want someone to think for you, then ditto. I prefer to do it my way as much as I can. If you want a browser that has a built in ad blocker and doesn't track you, try Brave browser. I try and keep big brother and big tech out of my life as much as possible.
Duckduckgo is a great search engine for privacy as well.

I can understand ‘gear whores’. My son-in-law is one. Has to have the latest electronic gadgets, computers, new phones, even wants to include an EV just because they’re ‘cool’.
