While reading through the Bible for this year,
« on: November 26, 2023, 02:28:27 AM »
Yes, reading trhrough, last evening I came upon Romans 11.. and I could see the 'signs of the times'.  I especially see it in vs  16-18.. I was
immediately struck with the very fact that we should, as Christians..remain very close with our spiritual roots..which are in Israel.

"For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches. And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree, do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you."

Look carefully at the last sentence... " . But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you."
We as a "grafted in" branch, must support the root, or the root cannot feed and support uis !  We obviously have a symbiotic relationship..

Why the Wokists, BLM and other unChristian or Commie groups hate Israel, I guess can be understood, why any Christian, even a nominal one
should fail to support Israel, is a complete mystery.

Well,  verse 17 is actually talking about Israel being cut off. They have denied the 1st coming of Christ and have had their privileges revolked.

Matthew 21-43, Luke 14-24 & 20-16

Yes, Israel has at times been "cut off"... but go on and read verses 22 through 25... 'splains it !

22 Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, [a]goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off. 23 And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. 24 For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

25 For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. (Romans 11: 22-25)

I've  read all that, and it says what it says. Like many preachers with a stack of various Bible versions that you, and they think makes them at least look more knowledgeable, you, like them, take scriptures out of context to make your personal perceived point, while trusting that a Burean doesn't come along and correct you.

The jews are no better off than any other non believer that Christ has already died on the  Cross for us.

Nothing out of context...go ahead and read the rest of the chapter,,all falls into perfect continuity..  So Mr Berean, please step up..

Note, verse 22...  It begins with the word... THEREFORE .  one of the casual rules of hermeneutics says... "In scripture, when you see the word
THEREFORE..read over carefully..and find for sure, what it is THERE FOR !  ;) :D

Verses 23 and 24 are dedicated to how many of the Jews will be grafted back in (saved)....and they already have begun.

Individuals leaving the Jewish religion and then accepting Jesus as the christ are the only ones to receive salvation .the nation of Israel has lost all favor  with God

Although you reply is replete with the "Anglo-Israel" or "replacement" theology, you will get no debate here..but some day the Jews will for the
most part, convert to Jesus..and they have already started.  THe Messianic movement already numbers in the millions.

Note however..Some of the ancient Hebrews and Jews are indeed saved.. Read Hebrews, chapter 11..

Like many other Southern Baptist, you have fell for the messianic jew salvation garbage.
Judaism and Christianity do not mix.

The messianic jew is trying to hold onto the Covenant God made with Abraham, and stir it into The New Covenant of Christ. Vainly trying to cover both bases. If they truly believed The New Covenant they would abandon the old covenant that died on the Cross with Christ.

This part of the chapter says that Israel is special to God and their day will come, but that had God not allowed them to be blind, those not of the tribes of Israel would not have their day came.

The very end says do not try to understand God's method, as no one knows the mind of God or serves as his councelor.

25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the father's sakes.

29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:

31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.

32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?

35 Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?

36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

Really Locust; Acts 20:27 tells us to take the "whole counsel" of God..that being, to consider His whole word as passed to us.

(Deut 4:31) says He will never desert the nation of Israel, along with (Zech 12:9,10) which confirms His promise.

You want New Testament?  Well, (Romans ch 11: 1-20)  explains how we gentiles have been 'grafted in'.  Yet, in vs. 24-28 Israel will be saved and
    grafted back in..
JWs are adept at "cherry picking" scripture....  Enough to confuse the tyro.... or novice.

God explained how in the last days He would reinstate Israel in their land..  Read (Amos 9:9-15)  ...And He did it, didn't He !

  Remember.. the WHOLE counsel..

  Prove it !

An exercise in futility. Your vanity has never allowed you to admit error, and you believe yourself infallible. You actively wallow  in your own self righteousness. ;).

its a rather commend practice after the grafting has taken hold to remove the old branches . only the root remains. those that are not producing the fruit that the master wants are cut off.
then the new sprout grows  into a stronger entity even a spiritual nation. true Christianity.

Agreed, and Israel has been "cut off"
"AGAIN " and will suffer until they "Come to Christ" as they have been "cut off" numerous times throughout biblical history.
