  Different people have different intellectual interests and pursuits.

  One man says his revolver works fine..it goes bang..every time he pulls the trigger.  If it doesn't he can take it to a gunsmith for repair.

  So, why dig into it , to fiund out why and how?  Others want to learn all about their guns.

   Politics are going to go on, with or without any one of us.  Too many don't delve into the issues or actions of politicians...still others read, research and discuss politics, such as right here on GBO.

  Millions of people avidly  follow some sport, whether football, baseball, hockey or basketball.  Others such as myself, could not care less about those games.

  Same with spiritual issues..  If we are Christians for instance..some of us are very interested in that subject.  When I post in the religion heading,
  I am looking for an enlightened discussion, with people of the same interest.

  Just as many here like to discuss hunting, trapping, vehicles, guns or cooking..  I like and discuss guns, hunting etc and join in those discussions.
 ...Surely I would not try to belittle another simply because he likes Henry and I like Savage..or he likes Ford while I like Jeep..

  The thing which sets me back, is when another has an expertise which I do not possess, I am not afraid to ask.  Dee has law enforcement experience, I don't mind deferring to him concerning LE techniques and practices..same with cattle herding questions..and I have asked related questions.

  Lloyd has experience with hot rodding engines..If I had any questions about linkage to hook up 3 two-barrel carbs, I wouild ask him.

   So, when I post something concerning  Christianity....I don't mind anyone questioning me about how I arrive at my conclusions..or offering
   plausible counter information....and moving to discuss it.

  ..But instead, all I get is baseless argument...giving me much heat, but virtually no light !

  If I either have no interest in a subject, I normally won't participate.  If I have little knowledge on a subject, and want to learn, I usually will either l
   listen silently or  perhaps ask questions, which seems the natural thing to do.

   Rudeness and abuse should not be a part of such discussions....at least that is the way I see it..

of months ago, but the train had a hard
time staying on the track.
Most of the stuff is sort of amusing
at first until I see all the gullible people
that embrace all of the manure that gets
spread around. Anointing oil to put on
yourself while watching the program.
Jordan river water for the same purpose.
Strips of purple fabric ( prayer cloths)
Salvation kits. Crucifixes made from
wood from the "holy land ". I've seen
lots of trinkets that they send you for
your "love gift"/ "seed money "
Lots and lots that declare "come soon
Jesus " and those that believe in hidden
secrets in the Bible, or secret Bible codes.
Many different interpretations of scripture
trying to equate current events with verses
and say that this is that, and that is this.
And that demons are really evil men and
and not demons because there's no such
things as supernatural beings or demons
or evil spirits.
Babylon is America and Babylon is England
and Babylon is Las Vegas and Babylon is

If people believe that the world is about
to end, why do they think that they can
hide and escape the  end?

I posted a website, that was all. And then you challenged my post with this, and lied about your United Methodist minister being separated from the United Methodist Church like the one  I used was, when yours most certainly was not.

  Guess I missed those posts.  I've heard that some folks dabble in those practices, but haven't seen them mentioned here.  Could be though
