bill all i can say is do an internet search as to which churches are considered protestant. i typed a rather long reply to you but out of respect took it down and sent it as a pm. dee i agree with every thing you said. there can be no such thing as a christian preacher thats a millionair. to me the two grahams and the pope we have now are total hypocrites that preach the bi ble but dont follow the words they teach.

But I didn't say that. I made known the FACT that Billy Grahams salary was close to a half a million dollars a year, and that his net worth was north of 25 million dollars. Nothing more, nothing less.

The truth of the matter is: Billy Graham left his fathers dairy farm and went to college. Three colleges later he graduated in 1943. Preaching is all hes ever done, and since his 1943 start date he has amassed a 25 million dollar net worth.
One cannot deny two things here. #1 Besides a few books, there's no doubt where the money came from,  #2 Obviously,  preaching payed pretty darn good for ole Billy.

Another fact is  whether someone here likes it or not, and sees me as a villain, this truth belongs to Billy Graham, not me.

In another thread about a Cashless Society, Dee brought up Billy Grahams salary.  He brought it up in this thread about King Charles.  Well, he brought it up, at least twice, but I have seen it in other places he posted.  I can dig deeper to show this as I did find one recently on the Cashless Society.

Once again. YOU brought Billy Graham into this thread. I posted PUBLIC RECORD concerning his financial status. SO WHAT!

You are obviously uncomfortable with Billy Grahams having made himself a millionaire many times over through his evangelism, when still,  nothing negative concerning his ministry has been said. THIS "TRUTH" HAS MADE YOU UNCOMFORTABLE, TO THE POINT THAT YOU ARE BLAMEING ME. I didn't make him a millionaire.  He did that on his own. ;)

Now this cashless society thread where I allegedly brought up Billy Graham. I don't remember that, so unless you can point myself,  and others to that,  I'm gonna have to say,  you're probably lying. ;)

I presume you noticed that I referred to "non-Roman Catholic" churches, since a number of denominations prefer to insist that their particular
denomination was not as a result oif the Luther protest.  One for instance are the Baptists, then there is the Celtic Church, which arrived in Britain
before the RC Church.  ..And of course, the Armenian Apostolic Church was founded by Bartholamew and Thaddeus, in the first century, long
before Constantine made his big move in Rome.

Then of course, comes the term "Catholic", simply means "universal".  In this case the term can be applied to any Christian Church, since all
are a product of the first century evangelism by the apostles.
For that reason, I prefer to be specific and so refer to the ROMAN Catholic Church, so as to keep things sorted out.. from other churches
which emerged from Jesus' universal church.

Did Billy Graham do anything illegal?  Did he invest his income over time into a home, stock market, etc.  Anyone can be a millionaire in America.  If you make minimum wage and save 10% of your income, invest it wisely, you can be a millionaire by the time you retire.  HOWEVER you have to wisely withdraw the money in order to make it last during your retired years.

If all Billy Graham did was preach the gospel, he wasn't rich when he started out, this came over time and over years of getting donations.  What is wrong with that.  If you took every penny from every millionaire in the world and spread the wealth so as everyone would get the same portion, in 6 months economists have said (without government interference of course) the money would be right back into the same hands that started it.  Also, if our government took every penny from every billionaire and millionaire in America, it would only cover the national budget for about 3 months.

Billy Graham also gave tithes of his own income 10% to getting churches started, helping hospitals, etc.  Finding fault with what someone owns, such as Musk, Bezos, or even ministers, is greed and envy on your part.  This is why some people are poor, greed and envy, instead of hard work and wise spending.

Remember the parable of the 3 men, one had 10 portions, one 5, and one 1.  The 10 and 5 invested wisely and grew their investment, the guy with 1, burried his and it was taken from him and given to the one who had 10.  Not what you have, but what your heart has, and what you do with what you have.  Sure, you are supposed to help others, but that is from your heart as well as your bank account, not because you think someone is richer and should give theirs.  Who cares, it is what you do with yours and your heart.

Well preach it Brother Dixie. Just understand that, your preaching to the  choir. Once again, it seems to bother you that Billy Graham made himself a multi millionaire PREACHING. I haven't said a single derogatory thing about him. I only posted his salary, his net worth.  :)

Mark Chapter 10 Verses 17-23

17.And when he was gone forth into the way there came one running and kneeled to him and ask him good master. What shall I do that, I may inherit eternal life?
18.And Jesus said unto him. Why callest me good? There is none but good, but one that is God.
19.Thou knowest the commandments, do not commit adultery, do not kill, do not steal, do not bear false witness Defraud not, Honor thy father and mother.
20. And he answered, and said unto him, Master, all these I have observed from my youth.
21. Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou I lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor. and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and take up the cross and follow me.
22. And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.
23. And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the Kingdom of God!

The tax collector, Zaccheus, accepted Jesus freely, and said he would give 50% of his wealth away.  He was a very rich man.  Jesus said he was forgiven, but didn't say he had to give it all away.  First, it depends on the persons heart.  Second, Billy Graham wasn't rich when he began his ministry.  God blessed him.  He will bless anyone who doesn't love their wealth more than they love God.  Jesus didn't say a wealthy person would NOT enter heaven, but it would be harder for them.  Wealth is also relative to where you live.  In America wealth is measured in millions and billions.  In Uganda, it might be measured in hundreds of dollars.  A wealthy person in Israel in Biblical times would probably barely make an average American today.  So, it is also relative to time.  There is 24.5 million millionaires in America today.  That is about 7-1/2% of Americans.  20% of Americans are worth over $500,000.

Also, why do you post the salary of Billy Graham and other evangelists?  Does it bother you?  You are the one who brings up people's salaries.

I do it because I want to.The thread was originally about King Charlie, but you injected Billy Graham into the conversation. So i posted his net worth,  and income. Since then, it has consumed you in trying  to defend  him. I don't recall any of Jesus' messages advising his apostles, or carriers of the good news to keep the riches from the people. I believe he told them to spread them amongst the poor.

BTW. Billy Graham came from a prosperous family. His daddy was a well to do dairy farmer.
You obviously know very little ab Billy Graham.

The wealth that Billy Graham accrued (like it or not) came from followers and donations for the promotion of Christianity. Billy Graham obviously kept 25 million dollars of those donations for himself.

The only difference in Billy Graham and many other "evangelists" is, you agree with him, and you justify his accrued wealth through these donations. Just like the millions that follow other millionaire evangelists. They are no different than you,  or vise versa.[ /b] :)

Does it bother you at all, that Billy Graham made himself a multi millionaire off of collections,  and donations that were meant for the furthering of Christianity and the poor?

Zaccheus was a believer, as was the CENTURION, and neither were, an evangelist. Your desperation in defending Billy Graham is comparing apples to oranges. Sad.

Mark Chapter 10 verse 25. It easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. (unless  you're Billy Graham)

OR, John Chapter 13 verse 29.

It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of the needle.  The needle was a small gate entering Jerusalem, which had many gates.  It was more the size of a door.  A camel had to neal down to get through, hard, but not impossible.  So rich people can enter if their hearts are right.  Also, I pointed out that Americans are rich compared to the rest of the world.  So in America where the gospel is preached and there are more born again Christians that in most of the world.  How hard is it going to be for Americans to enter the Kingdom of God.  I just wonder how wealthy some are on this forum who are Christians?  Also, look a Job, he lost everything but didn't abandon God.  God later blessed him with far more than he had.  Was he wrong to acquire a lot that God Himself gave him.  Everything isn't about money, it is about a persons heart.  Graham gave a lot too, a lot more than most, to build churches, hospitals, help missionaries, etc.  He was wise in his use of what God gave him.  Many are not, and waste it.

Good try on the  Needle Gate, unfortunately there is no evidence that such a gate ever existed in the wall around Jerusalem. Its an unproveable theory.

The FACTS ARE THE FACTS. God/Jesus, was clear throughout the new Testament that preachers of His Word were forbidden to profit in any worldly way from their evangelism. Everything collected was to be given to the poor and needy.
Billy Graham kept 25 million dollars taken out of the offering plate. No where then, or now, is that in  Biblical teaching. In fact it is contrary to Biblical teaching.

First of all, SATAN took what Job had, because Job stayed faithful to God, he was restored. Job was a believer, not an evangelist. Billy Graham was an evangelist and suffered no such torment.
As far as Graham giving? No Graham took up the offering, gave some away, and kept 25+ million dollars for himself.
Also, todays average American income has zero to do with Gods instructions to his evangists.

Taking scripture out of context, a trying to compare it to something that doesn't fit is also not Biblical.
You either believe Christs teachings,  or you don't. "Thou shalt improve upon the truth" cannot be found anywhere in the Bible.

Too bad the Queen's mother passed; this  King would have red ears from his grandmother batting his head back and forth.

Nothing new with the "royals" ...  King edward Vlll gave up his crown tgoElizabeth's father, George V  ...  Old Eddie was hung up with Wallis simpson,
an American divorcee, which gave him an out..from the crown..

A bit deeper though, since Ed  was a closet Commie..and spent the rest of his life in France.
