Gulf coast residents beware...

Yes beware, Gov John Bel Edwards, governor of Louisiana, is releasing a plethora of convicts...many of the worst kind.  He apparently wants to
"make his mark' before he leaves office.

Thats quite a list of success stories. If Louisiana residents are proactive, the governor would need to increase his security detail, and strongly consider a relocation plan. For himself.

I would hope that not if...but when, one of these perps murders again..the victims survivors sue Edwards for malfeasance as governor.

It would be at the taxpayers expense. What would that help? I would rather see the governor prosecuted for the same charge as the convict he released.

I noticed the age of some of the life prisoners.  Like 65 for one.  To play the Devils advocate, maybe he only released older prisoners which may not be a problem.  Some have been in for 30-40 years.  They probably have no where to go, and will be on the street or some shelter.  Some older released prisoners kill themselves.  However some may commit a crime again just to have a roof over their heads and 3 squares a day.

I know some street people in a poor town about 30 miles from me, commit crimes near a holiday, to get arrested and get a holiday meal, usually a turkey or ham dinner.

That's all well and good if you're the murderer. The victim is still rotting in the grave, and the victims' fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, daughters, and sons are still without their family members/victims. Biblically the murderers should have been put down.

Has anyone checked the age of these criminals?  I was just thinking that maybe the governor figured they were too old to do anymore crime.   I do agree it is not good for the families of the victims.  Why not build more prisons out in the bayou somewhere?  They wouldn't have too many escape into the waters with cottonmouths and alligators.   Build them high enough to withstand storm surges from hurricanes.

You know in the old Testament the Jews or Israelites didn't have prisons.  If you murdered, were gay, or committed adultery, you were judged as soon as possible and stoned to death.  If you stole, you became a slave of whoever you stole from until the debt was paid.  If you molested a child you were stoned.  Maybe we should go back to quicker trials and quicker capital punishment with slavery as an option for thieves, and if druggies, work for the state a while and go through cold turkey.  Japan has cold turkey laws that if you are drug dependent, they cut your hair, trim your nails, and put you in a padded cell to go through cold turkey or die.  They don't have a drug problem.

Our country has become too soft on criminals.

What difference does it make what their ages are?Criminals should go into the penitentiary knowing they will be there until their sentence is completed regardless of age :)
