Ring in the Spring 2024
« on: February 08, 2024, 02:00:27 PM »
Are you guys ready to ring in spring?

First day of spring this year  is March 19th. That's a week day.  Let do it Sunday March 17th 3PM Eastern/2PMCentral/1PMMountian/12noon Western.  If those times don't fit, adjust to fit your schedule.

For those of you new on the board, here is the first post I can find on the subject.

So lets keep the tradition alive.

Get your cannons dusted off, get some loads made up.  Charge the batteries in your camera.

Let make some smoke and fire!

i thought id never ever say this but we havent had winter yet. two storms a couple days apart that gave us maybe a foot. it was actually raining last night. my yard i clear and usually by now there's 4 feet in the yard. normal winter we get 3-400 inches. i doubt weve had 30 inches. it could still come but winter is winding down. i hope we get lots of rain this year or the farmers are going to have a dust bowl

Thanks for posting that

Used to be a couple of people that
had smaller scale cannons when
I used to try to go to a few muzzleloader
shoots, but I haven't heard much of
anybody around here that's interested
in any black powder anything lately.
I'm the only one around here that actually
uses a traditional black powder firearm,
and I can travel an hour east to a friend's
house that him and his sons hunt with BP

No cannons around here that
I'm aware of, but there's plenty
of these hoodrats that shoot
in the air regularly

Lloyd I hear what you are saying about the weather.  we have had a drier warmer winter here also.

I wish Ring in the spring was about the weather.  But it isn't.  It's just a made up excuse to get our cannons out and go shooting them.

Just a reminder, 2pm Central time what ever is equal where you are, get your cannon out and fire it.

Happy Ring in the spring!

Don't have any artillery pieces myself.
I'll have to let the cannon folk do it
for me by proxy

Good Luck
