Ol' "good news " Joel has a lot of fans
« on: February 13, 2024, 11:46:12 PM »
I've been seeing some step up
to speak about Mr. good news osteen
and his prosperity "church "
Seems to me that about 50% share the
opinion that God wants a select group of
people to be wealthy and that you can do
whatever you feel like doing without the
prospect of an eternity of damnation.
And those people sure get indignant if
anybody comments anything contrary to
that lifestyle

I guess the thought of being condemned
to hell is too much for some people and
it's easier to pretend it doesn't exist

...And surely, they deserve millions more than this man/God. (pun intended)

I imagine that Christ would have
had people laying on every pew
similar to the church scene in
the original "War of the worlds "
movie when Gene Barry was
searching for Anne Robinson

I've never seen a poor TV preacher, or evangelist. The offering plate pays very well, with no percentage restrictions.

Wasn't it the Anglican Church that changed their tenets to say Hell does NOT exist?

I think it was Hank Williams Jr. that once said, all the TV evangelists say, send your money to God, but, it's always their address! :D

Lots of people considered to be christians don't believe there is hell. Just like many pastors, something like 62% don't hold a biblical worldview. Then of course don't teach and preach a biblical worldview.   Its evidence that the ciulture is influencing the church instead of the church influencing the culture.  Anyone that has a pastor that isn't preaching from the bible should run the other way.

It also depends on which Bible he uses, and whether he actually understands it.
