havent been able to cast for the last couple years due to recovering from surgery's but lat week i got to start. so far 7 20lb pots. 40s 45acps and 501s so far but still need a couple pots of 9s but lee came out with a new 9mm bullet and the mold will be here in a couple days. going to take a break from it for a couple days and pc coat the ones i have done. i remember running two pots a day and even 3 some days. now after one it feels like some hit me in the back with a baseball bat. being old sucks!

pc coated about a 100lbs of bullets today. should finish up tomorrow. then the job i hate. running all those bullets through a sizing die. then the job i like. when the snows gone i have to empty thousands of rounds to get some brass back to load next winter. its an endless job but it beats the hell out of being a lineman with the power out in a blizzard

I should have bought all manner of
molds back when I was making so
many sinkers for fishing offshore.
The molds were cheap and not scarce
then, but I had a source for inexpensive
ready-to-load cast bullets that I
could depend on. Just the sinkers
and ML round balls is all I did then.

Yeah you should.
Lead fumes are very easy to suck up
in an enclosed area, even with fans
and such. A fellow I knew years back
used to cast bullets on a large scale
with his dad, and the cumulative effects
of doing it indoors for so long nearly
killed both of them. Messed his dad's
brain up

Lloyd, what heat source are you using to PC that many bullets?

i have an old kitchen range in the barn i got when the wife dropped something on the glass burner top.(see them on the side of the road for free all the time) 2 racks in it that each will hold a large and a small cookie sheet and thats about 50 lbs at a crack. my vibrating tumbler takes about 15 lbs of bullets and takes 10 minutes to coat bullets so i run the oven for 30 minutes and tumble 3 batches while the first load cooks  so im doing about 60-70lbs an hour. instead of standing around waiting i size some in-between. sizing is what takes the most time. could do even more if i bought another brass cleaner. youd think it would over work one with that much weight in it but ive used the same cheap frankfort arsenal unit and i know its done hundreds of pounds of bullets.

lead fume while casting arent a concern. lead doesnt give off fumes till it reaches 900 degrees

and theres no reason to cast that hot. you should never need to go over 750. you have some risk if your smelting with a turkey cooker but i dont think anyone does that messy job inside. where you pick up lead is handling it. allways use gloves, avoid touching your face and shower or at least wash your hands and face. think about it. how many times have you picked up a 1lb ingot and didnt even think about it. back in my younger days i went through 2 rounds of chelating to get my levels down. doc told me the three best things you can do is GLOVES GLOVES AND GLOVE. i get my level checked evry year and its never been out of the normal range since i took his advice and i do cast inside and cast ALOT
