https://www.motortrend.com/features/454-porsche-corvette-december-1978-982-1390-90-1/Way back in the very year this was published, I was in my Corvette fetish and put a down payment on a 1978 Corvette , which was a UNIVERSE away from what is in the picture, but , what is in the picture is exactly what I wish had or could afford.
I actually cancelled the order (and actually got a 10,000 dollar refund, good to buy from a dealer friend) when I found a 1970 Boss 302 in the paper for less than half the price, more horse power, a LOOOOT more room for stuff for traveling.
Shark Corvettes from 1968-1977 had zero room for storage, which was a reason the 1978 became a fastback.
I always though, IF, I had purchased a pre-78 corvette convertible, I always like the removable hard-top verseion better, I would have removed the convertible soft-top , So, I would have room for traveling storage.
Having seen all these OLD articles from Hot Rod magazine, suddenly filling the online magazine section, I wondered if they had run out of new stuff worth posting, WELL, my thoughts were probably correct as of this April, Hot Rod magazine becomes a quarterly publication.
So many car magazine have died, and the Hot Rod had become a pathetic shadow of even ten years ago for some time.
This is sad, very, very sad; fortunately Hemmngs Publications still are doing fairly well, as what was once Peterson Publications is a sad, sad thing now.
