Chicago wants to sue Glock!
« on: March 20, 2024, 01:22:35 PM »
Article in The New American today. Mayor of Chicago claims that Glock handguns can be made fully automatic with very little modification, and wants to sue them. Claims that there would be less violence if they couldn't be modified. Yep, as Bill Engvall says,--Here's Your Sign!! Never heard of a Glock being modified that way. And, I doubt that with the knuckle dragging crowd in Chicago, and most having an IQ being not much higher than room temperature, seriously doubt they could disassemble and do any kind of modification what so ever.

You can modify a Glock to shoot full-auto by replacing the slide backplate with a gizmo readily available on the internet.  No modification required, just the ability to remove and replace the slide backplate.  The devices are showing up more and more often, and there are videos online of gang bangers emptying extended Glock mags in nothing flat with the devices attached, and bragging about having them.

Now, it's not Glock's fault they exist, and I bet a similar device could be made for many semi-auto designs, it's just that Glocks are more popular.

Many businesses and manufacturers in "sanctuary" cities, had best beware.  Those cities are shelling out so much cash to host illegals, that they are
looking to filch any money from they can pry from away anybody.

Goes to show ya how out of date I am. But, not interested in anything full auto/ class 3 anyway. Waste of ammo as far as I'm concerned. But, knowing what kind of person wants this, their not interested in accuracy, just making mayhem. And, as IG points out, the politicians aren't looking to do the right thing, just gimme more money!

I'm pretty sure that I have the minority
opinion on such matters
IMO any law abiding citizen should be
able to buy as many of whatever configuration
of firearms that they can afford, and
whatever configuration and quantity of
ammunition they desire.

The problem that so many don't want
to acknowledge is that people that can't
be trusted to utilize items that can be
lethal shouldn't have ready access to
those items. There's a lot more law abiding
citizens ( at this point in time) than there
are criminals, so common sense says
to be vigilant of lawbreakers and monitor
their lives, or confine them in whatever
way needed to keep them from doing harm.
A law abiding citizen should be able to
purchase and use whatever they want
within the law and within the bounds
of common sense and safety.

The problem today is that so many
enable and make excuses for people
that can't act right or refuse to take
any personal responsibility for whatever
they do. A good many are those that
make excuses and enable their children
and relatives and friends when they
can't or won't act like a civilized response
citizen. I'll use my own self as an example.
I've never been arrested for anything, never
sat in the back of a police car or had
handcuffs on. I shouldn't have any
roadblocks in my way of buying whatever
I want and can afford. If I want to buy
a pallet load of ammunition at a time
and can afford to pay for it, there
shouldn't be any difficulty involved in
me making a purchase. Same with
any configuration of firearm, or any
quantity of firearm. It's really nobody's
business as long as I'm within the law.

couldnt have said it better and when you turn a blind eye because you dont care for a type of gun then just wait till yours is on the chopping block. they want ALL OF OUR GUNS and you can draw a line in the sand today or bury it in the same sand and just wait for them to come for yours. the constitution says i have a right to own any gun. never saw anywhere in it that glocks with switches or for that matter any full auto is banned. matter of fact the reason its in their is to protect you from those politicians who would take away your other rights. if anything the guns the constitution was addressing are weapons just like the military has.

Many of the mostly apathetic public
and many apathetic hunters and gun
owners have completely forgotten
(or didn't GAS) that not very long ago
the mainstream media was calling
COMMON SCOPED BOLT
ACTION HUNTING RIFLES
* SNIPER RIFLES *

I personally heard it on the
"news" several times

This is the main driver of up and coming lawsuits. Cities that have been run by democrats for years are out of money, and getting desperate.  They will try to sue anyone they think they can extract money from.  Glock handguns are not made much different than they were years ago. The only difference now is cities run by mayors like Brandon Johnson can't even pay their debt anymore, and Glock is one of the successful businesses they think they can take money from.  Chicago owes almost 40 billion just to pension funds alone. Lots of other cities are in the same boat.
Those people who will not be governed by God will be ruled by tyrants.    Wm. Penn

Then, maybe Glock should take steps to ensure that Glocks don't get shipped to the Chicago area, or even Illinois...........not even to their law enforcement agencies.

Just my opine.....Roger

thing is your forgetting that even ill residents have the same second amendment rights as i do and glock should be free to sell them anywhere. NO COMPROMISE TO APEASE LIBERALS. thats my line in the sand. Even some transvestite in CA should be able to buy any gun that weirdo wants. Its a RIGHT not a privilege

Never said I was against them!! Your assuming I don't care if their outlawed. I would fight that tooth and nail. I'M just not interested in personally owning one. You can have all you want, and would stand with you in that decision. If it was up to me, Glock should make 10,000 that are full auto, all loaded with 30 rd. mags and drop then all off in Chicago, and let nature take it's course.

Lloyd; I don't think you're understanding my thought processes.  I'll concede that the point you made is 100% correct, but here's my way of thinking.  If Glock voluntarily stops selling their excellent product in that state, especially to law enforcement, then pretty soon, they'll have to rely on something that may not quite be up to the standards they wish., and those LEO's will let the city "fathers" know exactly how they feel about the situation.
When those in power can no longer enjoy the armed protection they so seem to like, then they'll change their tune pretty quickly

Just my opine.....Roger

There's a good many in this area
that need to be incarcerated, or
were incarcerated and shouldn't
have been released, or should have
been executed.
People that can't behave in a civilized
law-abiding manner shouldn't be walking
around and living among those who have
no trouble obeying the laws of a civilized
society.
We have many that are weak and won't
take the necessary steps to insure the
safety of those who are law abiding and
twiddle their thumbs and look the other
way while pinheads do harm to others
and vandalize and destroy the property
of others.
If things click along like they have
been there won't be a fence to sit
on anymore
