Hadn't given it any thought until just now.
The sky in this area is strangely absent of
any aircraft
 ???        ???        ???        ???
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

Very strange event  ???

Not any traffic noise.
No aircraft in the sky save for one
nearly silent high altitude jet spewing
a chemtrail.
As it darkened to the peak, the hoodrats
were popping off gunshots and fireworks
like it was Independence Day or New
Year's eve.
No birds calling or squirrels barking
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

I was out during in the back yard, when the eclipse arrived,  enough cloud cover, so I didn't need special glasses to watch the whole process  Things
were quiet with the squirrels and birds.

Got a whiff of skunk odor..guess he thought it was night time.  It got dark enough, that automatic lights were triggered on...just about like regular night hours, so far as darkness was concerned.

Somebody down the road fired off some fireworks...I don't know why..

I watched and thought it was better than I expected. With total eclipse I took off the glasses to see the corona. Quite cool IMO...

As I understand it most of the hotels and motels were booked up, RV spots all rented out along camping spots. Drove into town and there was a lot of people out and about. The local walmart was fairly busy with visitors buying folding chairs and other stuff.

My wife got back from town right before the great "Totality" happened and we watched it. She was impressed and glad she saw it, it was kinda cool. Got a few pictures to share with family and friends.

I think I slept thru it. Oh well my daily nap is more important than seeing it get a little darker out.
