  When I shipped to to Germany in 1963, our ship the USNS Gen Simon B Buckner, passed under a string of lights across the narrows, being held up by
   a couple concrete bridge supports..  When I returned, aboard the USNS Gen Maurice Rose, we passed under the Verzano standing in her fullness.

   During both instances..going and coming, it was a night time experience..all lighted up.
