I didn't see anything about what
took him on any of the referenced
places.
Hopefully it wasn't one of these
agonizing maladies that are all
too common in 2024

He had diabetes, lost both legs to it, so I suspect that and its complications are what took him ultimately.

Dadgum. That's terrible.
Hopefully he didn't have to
suffer much.
A man I hunted with years ago
had diabetes before I ever knew
him, but it was controllable at
that time. He did good for a
couple of years, then lapsed
back into smoking one cigarette
after another, and guzzling beer
like they were going to quit
making it.
A couple of years more of that
and he lost half of his foot,
then not long after the rest of
it, then the lower leg. Last time
I saw him alive, most of the right
leg was gone, and the left side
was dark purple and ready to
go. Wasn't long after that I
saw him at his service.

Sad thing for anyone

Yes Kurt was a good man and is much missed. I met him at the PD shoots we had out in OK and sure enjoyed his company.
