Math Question

61 percent
After 1,600 auditors combed through DOD’s $3.5 trillion in assets and $3.7 trillion in liabilities, officials found that the department couldn’t account for about 61 percent of its assets, Pentagon Comptroller Mike McCord told reporters on Tuesday.

The Defense Department has failed its fifth-ever audit, unable to account for more than half of its assets, but the effort is being viewed as a “teachable moment,” according to its chief financial officer.

You can bet that all government agency's are run the same way. The defense Dept. is just in the spotlight, because its one of the biggest.

Yes they don't give a crap, because it isn't their money. Just raise taxes, or get more off the printing press.

Here is the math:

61% of $3,500,000,000,000 = $2,135,000,000,000

So, as per the OP article, $2,135,000,000,000 in assets is missing.

THAT is a lot of $$$$$$$ missing in assets.

P.S. - That 3.5 Trillion is about 1/10th the USA NAT. DEBT = $34,853,669,179,869
