Sooooo.....if you ask her for a coffin for the b-day, do you think she'll figure it out?

In Holmes Regional Medical Center Melbourne, FL right now. I now have a reason beyond loss of muscle mass for all of my weariness and shortness of breath.

PE, ordinarily meaning Professional Engineer, took on a whole new definition in the ER yesterday, Pulmonary Embolism - big one. Got surgery sometime today. Could this year get any more difficult? Brain and back surgeries in June. Now this.

Nothing to eat since noon yesterday. I'm hungry.

Getting old sure ain't for sissies. Seems if it isn't one thing going wrong with our old bodies it's a half dozen.

Sorry to hear of everyone's health issues.
Be praying for those that need help.
Hopefully, you'll make it through ok L.O.

I have some issues, but not as severe as
many do. As said, it's something every day.
Some years afterward, the surgery incision
where they accessed my femoral artery
hurts pretty bad sometimes. Not all the time.
And not with regularity. It got me last week
for most of the day and I just had to lay
down and be still and hope it would go away.
Feels like a fairly hard electrical shock, then
pretty much the same pain as when the
morphine quit back when. After it goes away,
I can't tell at all that anything was ever wrong.
Broken bones and sutured spots from years
ago are similar at times. All random.
I get minor + pains from old I.V. punctures
and blood draws.

All in all I'll choose what I get in comparison
to many I've known that can barely walk, or
have to wear the diapers ( I have for a couple of
weeks) or that can't feed themselves, or
don't have a clue where they are or who
anybody is.
As long as I can do my latrine chores
and make a meal and feed myself and
walk around and such, I'll take it and
thank God almighty for every second of it
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

hell ive been in pain from one thing or another since i got injured in the service in 75. broken back botht my hips broke , my ankle shattered and damage to my right knee. didnt let pain stop me. in one year i was good enough to pass the navy physical and i left the coast guard who wouldnt let me reinlist. they told me to take disability pay and sit home. i made 4 years in the service and worked as an electrical lineman for 25 years till at 51 i just couldnt do it anymore. 6 operations in the service and 19 operations since ive been a civilian. i would know how to act if something didnt hurt. but i dont let it make me stop. matter of fact its probably made me more active than many my age. i still work out twice a week but anymore not to gain muscle but just to keep what ive got. imo if you let pain win its just a matter of time till you a marshmallow in a recliner waiting to die. had two doctors tell me that by the time i hit 60 id be in a wheelchair. hell at 60 i could still run 5 miles and id bet at 60 neither of those doctors could have kept up. but i have to hope this second fusion gives me a bit of a break. its been every year for the last 5. doc said id better take it easy because hes running out off options. he smiled when i said it because he knows better. hell i got it in my head i was going to take a short ride on the harley yesterday but couldnt swing my leg up over. give me a week and ill be back living. i dont want sympathy for my pain. im proud of why i got hurt. people i feel sorry for are like bills situation. he. some he has no cotrol over and nothing he can do but except it. hes giving all of us a lesson in bravery and spine!!!

I survived. My doctor predicted a one hour surgery but it took 2.25 hours! It was a  MASSIVE embolism, like a bird's wing, across EVERY one of the.lung's blood vessesl.

My PE has been building for quite some time indicating clotting elsewhere over time. So, there is still risk and something amiss in that.

Why am i not dead? I'm a tough old buzzard. My saturated O2 is now 98%. I cannot get out of bed until the stitches come out tomorrow. There is a monster bruise in my groin from the 2 hrs of "light sawing" action it took to get that PE out.

Life is good.
