I get that message too. I think it has something to do with the expiration date of a security certificate or something like that. I also noticed a lot fewer posts here since that started.

I need to talk to Matt about it but yes it's a security certificate issue. Site is still just as save as it was.

I think it's a money issue for Matt. A week or two ago he told me he didn't have the funds to pay for keeping the site going and that I'd need to fund it. He then never got back with me on it and now this certificate issue. I think it's because of that.

He's out of town for a couple of days so nothing he can do until he get back home. The site is still safe and isn't going to infect your computers.

This place is like "home" and the internet friends I have here are what keep me coming back.

Matt has posted somewhere a way to donate to the server fund. I honestly don't know just where it is. Lloyd has signed up for an automatic monthly donation, he can prolly tell you were to find it.

I've had a couple folks mail a donation to me to give to Matt. I think Lloyd maybe the only one making a monthly contribution, I have no clue how much. That's between him and Matt.

Matt and Becky's business has not yet recovered from the lawsuit they went thru. They do prints of stuff and they thought they were legal. They paid for the rights to the images but apparently they were scammed and the guy that sold them the rights had not right to them himself.

So they had to pay to settle the lawsuit. While this was happening Etsy shut down their site and all income stopped. It's back up now that the lawsuit is settled but theier income is far less than it was prior to all this happening. So his money situation is quite tight these days.

He had just been funding this site from his own money until that and now he is still trying but some months funds just aren't there.

I get/got the message , went to the advanced setting of the warning and hit, proceed to site.
No problems since then.

That's the same path I'm following for now. I think Matt will be back tomorrow, if so I'll talk to him about it. I know this happened some while back. The certificate maybe an annual thing.

the link to donate is at the bottom of the page. everyone that wants this site to survive had better step up. im sure theres not a man here that cant afford at least 10 bucks a month. say you cant and ill ask how you got the fancy phone or lap top your using to come here. thats about 30 cents a day! ive had over 25 years of enjoyment and comradery on here for free. its money well spent in my opinion

CORRECTION, I donated to the server fund.  If money gets tight, I WILL donate a rifle for sale, auction, or raffle, though the latter two are probably not sufficient with the low number of users here at present. An auction might work on Ebay though...just thinking out loud.

The LGS here is like the local pawn shop in its flea market mentality like the people in this community. Always wanting something for less or nothing. The thing to do sell a gun out right to someone that reads an ad and responds at the price point I set. Then there will be no confusion as to the expected rate of return. Buy low, sell high, don't forget what is being done in the meantime.

I have also been making a monthly contribution to the site ever since Matt indicated a need for funds to kerp it running. I just checked my PayPal account and the funds are still being withdrawn last was Oct 6th.

Thanks DDZ, I knew there was someone else besides Lloyd who signed up for a monthly donation, I just wasn't sure who. Matt handles all of that and I don't see the donations so wasn't sure who.

From what Richard posted I see it is going into their business account, which is where he pays the cost of this site from.
