If those big city New York idiots tried that...many counties would secede from New York !

My home county has already declared itself a "Constitutional county"..and the resentment lies deep..

NY like all other states that went blue, was for Trump per square mile. NY has 62 counties, and Trump won 48 of them. Thats over 75% of the counties that went for Trump in NY.  Trump even took more counties in California than Kamala did.

You are spot-on Land_owner.  The 2024 red/blue map by counties shows that the brain dead voters are even more confined to small blue areas.

no dought the state and the city are polar opposites. democrats control the big cities in most states including my own. saw a tongue and cheek article on fox one day that said putins plan for America is seriously flawed. he has all his nukes pointed at cities that pose nose resistance to him. his nukes should be set to wipe out as much of rural america as he can. thats who his troops would face with an invasion. that said secession is just silly talk. theres been talk of it in northern michigan and texas for decades. 30 years from now the grandsons of those idiots will still be talking the talk and not one step of walking the walk will happen.

Giving tactical advice to the enemy is treason. Don't be telling the Russians where to aim their missiles.

The Greatest Generation is dying off (you and me as Vets 'almost' excluded). The years of "strong men" prosperity have left their mark on society.

Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.

Gen X, Y, Z men are Weak "men".

Hopefully, Putin, and his Chinese and North Korean associates are at least aware that if they are truly stupid enough to pull the trigger on us, they will be pulling the trigger on themselves.  Mutual self-destruction is just the way it is and that's just the way it has to be until some of these horrible creatures become extinct.

As a southerner we signed away our right to secede.  My solution is for red states to band together declaring "we are the USA and govern by the US Constitution". Then say, "We aren't seceding. Instead, we are kicking you OUT!"

Doubt seriously they could do it. And, with as many news website's that are competing, I honestly believe their going the route of National  Enquirer and World Weekly garbage of 25 years ago. Similar article was on a different news site, and had a picture of an overweight AG claiming the same thing, her state and 3 others were going to leave the union and join Canada. My comment was banned when I posted, why don't her and the other females just cut their hair and promise not to have sex any more. Guess they don't me like anymore! :(

Ummm.... Most red states are not far from becoming a blue state...and some blue states are close to turning red, especially after this recent election.

Just look at the map...       https://www.reddit.com/r/MapPorn/comments/1gl630u/a_mostly_complete_map_of_counties_in_the_2024/#lightbox

Your  home state has a fairly large portion which is blue..the more urban areas, I presume..  Then look at those which are considered as "blue"
states"... again, the urban areas !  Some of the close red states could become blue and some of the close blue states copuld become red.

It would only take a small percentage of change.

Tis recent election more was gained by conservatives, and hopefully, the trend will persevere..

even the red states are 40% or more blue. alot of them by a couple percentage points (like mine). pretty tough to kick a state out of the union when 49 percent of that state is red and is on your side. plus the government has no constitutional power to kick a state out in the first place and there are rules against secession. so the question is. do you believe in the constitution or are you like a slimy leftist and only believe in the parts you like? i bled for the constitution. every word in it.What we DONT need right now is more division. what we should be doing and what i believe trump will is to change this country so much for the good that the blindfolds come off of all but the extreme left of the party that there's no hope for. change things so dramatically that for all intensive purposes the democratic party isnt even a player in the next election. he needs to bring this country together. not spread childish division and stupid talk of secession. if he doesnt than theres a good chance the republican party wont be a player 4 years from now.

When folks start judging an area by the red/blue factor, they should ignor the invisible state boundaries, and keep in mind what the red/blue map actually looks like..

..A far more precise picture;         https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/map-trump-red-blue-counties-2024/

Some people believe that the land does not vote. I beg to differ. The owner of the land and thus the land votes.

Then too, I heard on a news documentary this morning, that only 2% of the US land is under urban/suburban spread..

So, it is only good sense to ask... What does that 2% know about care for the remaining 98% of the land?
