Little chance.. Th falls averages about a190 ft drop...with sharp boulders at the bottom. The falls are shedding rock on a regular basis..
I can recall just one person surviving the plunge without being housed in a protective device.
That was a small boy, wearing a very buoyant life jacket, and many figured that due to his light weight, along with the very buoyant life jacket,
the extremely swift current carried him out beyond the rocks at the bottom.
The falls is about 60 miles north of me, but I very rarely go there..unless I am accompanying my son on some kind of a photo shoot !
I can say this though.. If i could magically transport myself back to age 19, when I worked as a lifeguard, I would not want to be in the water any closer than a half mile from the falls, since the current, as it draws closer to the falls, is very swift.
