For those who read books regularly..
« on: December 06, 2024, 06:03:46 AM »
In recent years, I have noticed that there are not many books being written by men..  I read little fiction, but browsing through books being
published, I find very few authors who have a man's point of view..or is a man.

   https://www.frontpagemag.com/the-disappearance-of-male-authors/

As i stroll through thevarious books which are available, i see many that would appeal to the woman's point of view.  Is this just neglect,
or is it a paucity which we have earned by not seeking out and purchasing books by and for men ?

Interesting question. Many men I know don't and haven't been into reading either fiction or nonfiction. Seem to see little value in reading. You can see that on both GB's postings as well.

I used to do a LOT of reading but nowadays, I only on occasion get the burr under my saddle that says , read books now.

Science fiction has turned into Science Fantasy, and where as in the past , God was mentioned, today that does not happen.

I read some non-fiction, most recent about the dude who produce the Movie 2001 a Space Odessy, which was actually incredible when they spoke of his other doings.
I am glad you wrote this, it gives me impetus to do more reading now.  8)

Interesting that you should bring that up, Bob.  It seems that in the Christian genre, is one place wherewe find fair representation by men..

Tend to read mostly nonfiction (history), biographical, autobiographical and some historical novels. All written by men, not purposely, just so happens.

At 76 yrs young, most of the books I read (in excess of 50 a year) are authored by men.  I read almost all of the Jack Reacher series last year.  I also read Louis Lamore, David Baldacci and James Patterson.  I am retired and read a little almost every day.  In between I work on powder horns, self bows, walking sticks, gardening, fishing, kayaking, and keeping up with about 6 various outdoor sporting forums.  Just a little AADD on my part.
