Private property hunter shooting

Louisiana hunter cited for violations after shooting man he mistook for a deer | Fox News

Of course, ifthe victim was trespassing on posted land, that could have contributed.  However, even though the owner may not have expected a
man to be in the brush, that is still no excuse.. A hunter must always see his game clearly.

I don't know about him, but I have never confused another hunter with a deer, a woodchuck, fox, coyote or snapping turtle..

  No reasonable excuse..

Neither had a deer tag. Neither was wearing orange. The shooter was supposedly hunting deer with a 20 gauge loaded with buckshot? Sorry but that doesn't sound like a hunting accident to me.

Hmmmm... maybe the law should consider any further relationships or contacts between the two.

A guess would be the land owner had an argument with the guy trespassing. Land owner shoots him, then the only way out is the "Oh I thought he was a deer" excuse.

The two hunters were unknowingly hunting deer on the "same small private property" when one hunter mistook the other for a deer and accidentally shot him.

Both men had permission to be on the property, according to local media.

Neither was wearing hunters orange clothes , so , stupidity has just rewards.
From what little is know, the shot dude at this point is fortunate, the shooter was using 20 guage buck shot.
Had he had a rifle , probable fatal immediately.

I knew a clan of rednecks in east-central Florida that took "sound shots" into the bush if they just heard footsteps, expecting there to be a doe or a buck. What kind of idiots hunt like that?
