  In a situation all vets would recognize, Pete explained in effect..(paraphrased)..

    ....If you are an infantry soldier and lose your rifle, they will throw you in jail, but if you are a general and give in, handing untold weapons over to
    the enemy..you get promoted!

  Here's hoping Pete can bring sanity back to our military leadership... he certainly deserves the job..

I like Pete Hegseth, and I know where he's coming from with that statement, but I disagree. As a young ground pounder in Germany, I did just that, and was issued a new rifle. While on maneuvers near the then "Czech. Border, I received an emergency message to report to Division headquarters. My Dad had passed, and they returned me to base to fly back stateside on leave . Somewhere between the middle of nowhere and base, after several stops to eat and relieve ourselves. (I was riding in a jeep with MP's) I lost my M1. I thought for sure I was to be placed in front of a firing squad and shot lol!

When I returned to Germany I was issued another M1. I'm sure under different circumstances, it wouldn't have been the same.

i really laughed when the red faced senator said pete wasnt qualified because he drank at work or fooled around on his wife. id bet at least 50% of them did and do one or both. bunch of desk jockeys with no leadership skills or military experience judging a real soldier. like who THEY put into that position did even a half assed job!!

  The surprise that you do not know Pete, is perhaps you do not watch the Fox network, where he is a regular.  Pete has been with Fox for perhaps a
   decade now.  Pete possesses that intangible quality of "PRESENCE" in any room.

  Qualifications?  Pete is a grad of two ivy league schools..Harvard and Princeton..he has over 20 years military experience, along with combat
   experience in the "deep stuff", where he earned the bronze star, for "heroic or meritorious" service.

    Yes, Pete has gone through marital troubles, but seems to have found the Lord and is together for sure.

      I find it interesting that some senators make accusations into past sins.  I only know one man in all history who never sinned...and he was the
     Son of God...but still the politicians of the day (pharisees) crucified him !

     Pete's wife has evidently forgiven him, and God has forgiven him...so who are a bunch of tippling senators to question him on that ?

   I look at it this way..  Pete has more than enough college, and has 20+ years of military experience..plus he knows that a near miss makes a loud
   "crack" and not a "pew" sound.    ..And he has many hours in the nitty-gritty of mud and blood.. "been there ...done that"..

  One of the humorus asides..  Pete was assigned to be with the military guard in Washington, D.C. on 1/06/2020.  ..But it must be visible while in
   uniform. When some brainiac saw his tattoo, they cut him out of the situation, saying he must be a terrorist risk..because of his occult tattoo..

  His "occult" tattoo was the Jerusalem cross..but the numbskulls could not understand it..and likely did not know enough to verify it !

  One of his tattoos says, "DEUS VULT"...which only threatened the uninformed even more, since Deus Vult, sinply means  "God wills it"..

   This past Christmas, I gave my daughter-in-law and grandaughter each, a new jewler made Celtic cross necklace, which I suppose would raise the
   hackles of the "no think" crowd.

   One displayed an amethyst, the other a garnet, both to celebrate their faith as well as their heritage.

   Not really, Goldie..but I hope people can now better see through the Washington bluster.

  What many miss, is that intangible "presence" I mentioned...when Pete steps into a situation.  This is a key need for any diplomat, and will be
   sorely needed when dealing with NATO countries, and their shirking of their responsibilities.

     It will also counts heavily, when dealing with hostile foreign powers..  I suspect Pete gained much of this valuable attribute from his command
    in combat experiences..
