This cold "global warming" weather can be dangerous...
« on: January 22, 2025, 01:27:40 AM »
Yes; and it can be dangerous, even for those of us who are accustomed.

This morning it is -19 F at my house..while up in the city it is -3 F.  I am watching the news and see where 2 little girls (5 & 7) left
their house in the city, and wandered outdoors during the night.

Fortunately, the parents were alert, and with police help, they were soon recovered.

I have a little great grandson (20 months), who is inclined to step out without a word.  He will do so even in the coldest weather, bare footed and
      in his  "jammies"..

My grandaughter and her husband, have to watch closely...were he to  step out  in tis weather and the door latch behind him, it wouldn't
take but a few minutes and we would be facing a tragedy.

Thus, a high, out of reach latch and an attentive ear ... is absolutely necessary.,

If you don't want the truth, don't ask me.  If you want something sugar coated...go eat a donut !  (anon)

Climbate change, which is now the politically accepted term, and actually is an accurate one, is happening.
The Global Warming, Chicken Little cry, is real in Minn., as our winters have ofen been pathetically warm -- at times -- BUT South and East of here you are getting the weather that we used to get 8 Winters out of 10.

So far this Winter we had a whole 2 days of 24 hour sub-zero weather with , Praise the Lord, sub-zero in the Twenties.
It used to be how many WEEKS of sub-zero lows and highs in the singe digits would determine whether a Winter was a cold one or an average one.

The other half , this week, found out it is a good idea to have your batterey checked as sub-zero can quickly make a poor battery a worthless battery .
BUT
I found out that if you have a battery charger and you start to see bare wires in the plug in cord, DO SOME THING ABOUT IT,  before it goes pfft.
I had to fix mine so I could put a charge in her car.
I would have just bought another but this one cost me over 100 dollars two decades ago.

Our climate is changing..every day, every week, month, year, century and millennia.  The only debate is what causes it to change..

Obviously it wasn't CO2 during th emillions of years before the industrial revolution !

For example, we had the Roman warming period, and the Greenland warming period... and there is no record that the Roman Army was using
tanks or helicopters...And I doubt Eric the Red had 4 Mercury outboards on his longship.

Setting that aside..how did the guilty party, the Americans, bring on the ice age, when half of present day North America was covered  with a 2 mile
thick sheet of ice.  (according to scientists)
