I miss the days when Minn. needed such vehicles EVERY winter, especially up North.

There were many early snowmobiles made with a model T or model A bases, but credit for the first light snowmobile, seems to go to a man in your neighboring state of Wisconsin..although I suspect there were many garages or barns that were host to similar efforts at about the same time..

The development of snowmobiles over the years is interesting, to say the least

Sadly the snowmobile scene in the U.S. is dying a slow death, but 20 years ago such machines were popping out of North Land work shops not infrequently.
I was at the Snowmobile speed runs 20 years ago in Wisc. and there several  AA/Fuel type snowmobiles running then.
This would be the snowmobile A/Fuel roadster equivalent of this:

Yes; I can recall when there must have been at least 100 diffewerent makes of snowmobiles..

Seems like all the Japanese names..suzuki. Kawasaki... and nearly a hundred American small firms were busy building..
