A bit early for "..my part of the woods. "

Drove through blizzard conditions today..some highhways closed due to weather.  But then, when I see what some Americans are suffering through
these days, I'll take my lake effect snow..

Prayers for our brother Americans suffering in Tennessee, West Virginia and Kentucky..

That day I'll be too busy celebrating my 80th birthday to be ringing any spring, heck I thought ya rung bells not springs.

Thanks George, I forgot to post the announcement here.

There is doom and disaster all around and we will all do our part to help in some way.  Whether it is volunteering to help with cleanup, our putting a few extra dollars in the poor box.  We in this country have always stepped up to help those who need.

Spring in the time of the year when new life begins,  Flowers bloom, trees get new leaves,  animals have babies.  It is a time to celebrate life and hope over despair.  We dust off our cannons and set then out on the fresh new green spring grass and "Ring in the Spring" every year.  It moves us from the dark and depressive days of winter to the bright light of the coming spring and summer.

Bill, you may not know it  but "Ring in the Spring" is also a cannon salute to honor the Octogenarians in our life.  I have known you here on the both  GBO's for over 20 years.  This cannon board exists because you took a chance on Tim and I all those years ago.  You gave us this board and I thank you for that.  I will dedicate my "Ring in the Spring" cannon volley you.  I congratulate you on your 80 years of life.

Thanks Doug. I have no real personal interest in cannons but have read many of the comments on here and still do sometimes. My cannon collection is small and decorative only other than the little firecracker cannon given to me long ago by Dom I think it was. I've never fired it but it sits on the shelves with my other decorative only small cannons.
