LONG WINTER
« on: February 17, 2025, 11:11:33 PM »
anyone that believes in global warming should have had to spend this winter up here in a tent!!  last winter was a very mild one. easiest winter i can remember. all i used was 8 gallons of diesel in the little tractor/blower. still lots of winter left and i just filled it and that makes 32 gallons for this year. theirs a good 6 feet of snow out my front window. son in law shoveled the garage roof for the first time (third time for the house and last year 0) he was shoveling chest high snow!! i see why building codes in this county require a snow load of 75lbs per square foot. there was TONS of snow shoveled off. its got rather large eaves and they were actually starting to sag to the point you could see it. not only a snowy winter but a cold one. we had blizzard conditions yesterday so bad they closed the state highway and it was -3. thats rare right here on lake superior. most big storms happen above 10 degrees. i only got a break from blowing snow two days last week. blew yesterday and have another foot in the driveway and one side has a 3ft drift. this is one LONG winter ill be glad is over. Really pissed me off when i tried starting the harley yesterday and found my trickle charger took a crap and the battery was frozen and ruined!!! at least the challenger and my old gmc fired right up.

I was just saying to myself this has been a cold winter. The greenies are out of luck for a minimum of 4 years and miserable because nobody cares and their worries are falling on deaf ears.

I think this is the coldest winter I can remember in the last 15 years at least. The last 4 years I didn't even have to put the plow on the quad. This year Ive had to plow the driveway a number of times. Its 8 degrees here this morning and is to be cold all week. Worst winters I can remember in my lifetime were in the late 70's where we had lots of snow, wind, and cold.

My sister-in-law posted on facebook, saying her son plows her driveway after each storm.  Normally that is about 7 times through the winter.

This winter, he has already plowed her driveway 27 times..

Right now it is a bright sunny -13, with a light wind.

Has been below zero now for approx. 40 hours and will not get above zero till tomorrow noon or so.
It actually was chilly down stairs when I got  up this morning so I turned on the Natural Gas fireplace, for a bit.

35 years ago , before a LOT of changes were done to this house, it would get quite cold downstairs, a lot of space heaters were used and I would shovel snow against the foundation of the house to stop drafts.
Used a lot of that 3M draft blocking film, without it, on a windy day, the curtains would be moving on the North West windo.

I have not been outside enough this year to get totally acclimated but even at that, when the temp. get back up to the teens, I will still wear a lighter coat. 8)

Fired up my wood burner to help the furnace. Still have a supply of wood and will restock in spring.

In a cold snap right now, high yesterday was 20, today, 15, low around zero tonight. Should be around freezing(32) by the weekend. Not sure why, but last winter, and this one, all snow storms split, go north into Michigan, Detroit, or south of us to Columbus area. Less than 10''of snow last year, and were just at 10'' now, usually by the end of February our snow is pretty much done. Onle reason I got the tractor out was to drag up some tree trunks and the boys and I spent a few hours cutting and splitting last week. Can't complain, got wood hauled in and filled the woodbox, sun is shining in so will go lay down on the floor and take a snooze!
We keep trying peace, it usually doesn't work!!Remember(12/7/41)(9/11/01) gypsyman

My wood pile has taken a pretty good hit this winter. I need to start cutting/splitting more for next winter. Just seems the older I get the more of a chore that becomes.

“Climate and weather- so confusin”!

Not really. It’s cold every winter, warms up in the spring, it’s warm to hot in the summer and cools down again in the fall, leading back into winter. It happens every year, sometimes colder, sometimes hotter. It’s been the same for eons. Figure it out already.

It’ll never happen! “ She it “ is to busy promoting DEI, NWO, globalist, and lgbtqstd garbage. Only reason for coming here. Look on the bright side, Bill will eventually tire of this troll and ban it. On the down side, “ she it “ will eventually resurface and the cycle continues although we will get a brief hiatus :)

The big lie..among many..started out as a"new ice age"..  When that didn't get all the mentally deficient stirred up, they took another route
to cripple the most productiive country in the world...they introduced "global warming".

That worked for a few years, because we were in an brief warming spell, but then REAL scientists admitted that the brief warming spell would not
last, so the fakers switched to "climate change"..

So now we hear that 97% of scientists who were asked, agree with the climate change scenario..

Hmm.. wonder if it has anything to do with billion$$ and trillion$$ that are unaccountable with certain governmental institutions....  ;) ;D

..................   Much like hired "studies'... politicians can get the weather they want..so long as they pay enough for it !

With what DOGE has already discovered, is there any doubt left among thinking people, that the ^above^ is true ?
