Thank you both

It is not that hard to do.

Just get better informed by not just looking at what you are used to seeing for your , "News" soures, but do the right think by doing the comparison & trying to get OUT of the being "fed" what everyone else seems to get fed by the MAIN STREAM MEDIA .

Use your head, Be discretionary, and look to the "Pros & Cons" about what you are being offered.

Informed decisions, be the price you decide to pay for the food ya eat or the bills ya pay takes YOU to take the time to be discretionary.

Don't you take the time to find out what the beast insurance rates are for your situation?

How about internet access or your cellphone converge.

I shold nopt have to even say these things. at mid 60s I think you are likely older than I am.

GET A friggin grip & STOP LISTENING TO THE BS, AND START USING YOUR HEAD LIKE YA SHOLD HAVE BEEN TAUGHT IN THE 1960S OR BEFORE.

OK. Done

Suggestion..
PULL YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASS, OR AT LEAST STOP PRETENDING YOU ARE NOT SMART ENOUGH TO KNOW BETTER.

/rANT DONE.

tIRED OF WHINERS & LEFTIST POS who ought to know better.

Hopefully see ya getting your head wrapped arund some common sense nstead of the propagada.

YOUR CHOICE, DUDE.

Cutting social security has been one of the siren songs of the democrat party for a long time. Don’t you get tired of being manipulated and lied too?

Democrats continuously yell, at the top of their voice, that they are the "saviors" of the middle class. Watching DOGE unravel Democrat spending of middle class tax dollars, by the Trillions, is evidence the "Leaders" of their party are in it for THEMSELVES, and themselves only...well, that and the financial kickbacks, which have yet remain unexposed.

The Left's " Leadership" expects an uninformed electorate, those without a working brain cell, drinking the Koolade, which apparently they get...75M of them. There has to be some momentum from women, blacks, socialists, extreme left, word salad eaters, flip-floppers, bat-**** crazy, blue haired, man-bun, Trump Derangement, and liar-liar pants on fire types too.

Very true. The democrats, and conglomerates the main stream media have whined for decades that republicans are going to cut S.S. Their minions that listen to them never tire of it, and obviously continue to believe it. Even though Trump stated numerous times he's not going to cut peoples S.S. benefits to those that are entitled to it. Being entitled to it means having worked and actually paid into the Ponzi scheme. Not illegals, or people that never put a dime into it.

It is sure interesting, that now we find so many ruthless politicians were throwing our hard earned tax money out by the billion$$, relying on kick
backs to make themselves at the least, millonaires..

..But when emergency funding is needed (because of rampant spending), all these politicians can do is rob our social security..that WE paid for.

It would seem that since some of them are making millions on the side, thay could at least tap their retirement plan to cover their screw iups !

It was okay for the Communist News Network (CNN) to air Kathy Griffin holding up a severed Trump head. How about the over 12000 tweets calling for Trumps assassination. Also democratic senators and congressman calling for violence. Ellen Degenerous asked Kamala who she would rather be in an elevator with. Trump, Pence, or Jeff Sessions. Kamala said does one of us have to come out alive?  Maxine Watters said, she would go take Trump out tonight, meaning kill him.  There were many other so called joking threats. Then how many times the media said Trump and MAGA supporters are a threat to democracy. Called Trump a fascist, dictator, Hitler, and many other names. Then twice there was brain dead Biden saying he is going to take Trump out behind the gym.  Of course we have the assassination attempts that people within our government helped to set up, and the attempts were just blown off by the media.
Now the democrats and their supports are butt hurt over some petty name calling? Its right. Time for playing nice is over. Screw the democrats, and their supports.  Everything they stand for is un-American.

YOU said it.

Yeah, I know that. What is your point?

Clearly, to every brain with more than one working brain cell, the Democrats are the party that are actively encouraging and actively DOING whatever the Dems are screaming at everyone that Trump and Republicans are  supposedly "doing", which Trump and Republicans ARE NOT doing. Convoluted, I know!

Democrats say whatever, whenever, in order to "look good" to their Useful Idiot voter base, especially claiming to be the "saviors" of the middle class. WAKE UP AMERICA!.

When the voter base is only informed to the level of the newspaper headlines, if they can even read the newspaper headlines, those voters remain remarkably misinformed - because they DON'T EVEN CARE to be informed. Just give them free ****, as in Welfare, Medicare, Obama Care, Obama phones, shared wealth from USAID/DoE/HUD/et al, and kickbacks, waste, fraud, and corruption that is currently being exposed by DOGE.

Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) penned:

Quote
If you don't read the newspaper, you're uninformed; if you read the newspaper, you're mis-informed.

Penned 150-years ago and it is still true today!

And, one more thing, one hundred years before Samuel Clemens, Thomas Jefferson wrote:

Quote
the British ministry have so long hired their gazetteers to repeat and model into every form lies about our being in anarchy, that the world has at length believed them, the English nation has believed them, the ministers themselves have come to believe them, & what is more wonderful, we have believed them ourselves. yet where does this anarchy exist? where did it ever exist, except in the single instance of Massachusets? and can history produce an instance of a rebellion so honourably conducted? I say nothing of it's motives. they were founded in ignorance, not wickedness. god forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. the people cannot be all, & always, well informed. the part which is wrong will be discontented in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive; if they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. we have had 13. states independant 11. years. there has been one rebellion. that comes to one rebellion in a century & a half for each state. what country before ever existed a century & half without a rebellion? & what country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms. the remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. what signify a few lives lost in a century or two? the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. it is it's natural manure. emphasis added.

“ If you don't read the newspaper, you're uninformed; if you read the newspaper, you're mis-informed.” I like that. However, it does not deal with the problem of “being informed “. How does one “get informed” if the media cannot be trusted. Over the last few months, I have broadened my intake of what passes for news. Everything that we get has been manipulated by someone, by a few someones. Unless I am on site to witness en event, what I see has been edited by someone.

Just saw a video of VP Vance addressing an audience of older Americans who were protesting proposed cuts to Social Security. He was critical to the point of asking “don’t you all have jobs? “
I am 78 years old and no, I do not have a job.

That's a fair question, and it's one a lot of people wrestle with—regardless of where they fall politically.

The hard truth is this: you listen to everyone, but believe no one. Every source has a spin, a motive, or an angle—even the ones that pretend they don't. Your job isn't to blindly trust anyone. It's to observe, compare, cross-reference, and most of all, think.

We're all being fed narratives, and unless you're standing there when something happens, you're relying on someone else's version of reality. That means you're either uninformed, misinformed, or—if you're doing the work—partially informed with your own discernment layered on top.

There's no shortcut. It takes effort. It means stepping outside your echo chamber, asking uncomfortable questions, and accepting that even the people you agree with are sometimes full of it. That’s how you start seeing what’s actually going on—not just what someone wants you to believe.

Musk found millions of people over 120 years old still getting Social Security checks.  Most were going to foreign countries.  In the US, you can go to prison for not reporting the death of a SS recipient.  In foreign countries, we can't prove anything.  They may not issue death certificates, or if their family don't report the death, they still get a check.  Maybe 1 in 100 million might live past 120, but very rarely.  Right there is some cuts without cutting the Americans getting SS.

There is a lot of fraud in government, like $5,000 hammers used by the military.  Someone is getting this money and it is not the hammer manufacturer unless they are paying it back under the table to someone.

As I said in reply #28, most any news agency has it's preferences.  Real America News leans right, but I have not caught them actually lying..

That being said, I don't get my news from a single site, but try to check opposition to balance.

why do you believe its a myth? were you told that by the alphabet news or do you have access we dont? we had an air force base here and had a lt cornel that went to our deer camp that was in charge of ordering everything for that base and thats when the b52 toilet seat cost thing blew up and he had MANY stories of insane cost of items he had to procure. he always said if he had acess to the local hardwear store he could cut hid budget by 25% and thats just ordering things like hardware stores sell and didnt include rip offs by boeing ect. dad worked civil service in the housing repair building and said they bought all ge appliances and relaced things like washers and dryers on a 3 year rotation. not when the broke and brought all the old ones to the dump to be destroyed and if a brand new one was defected even by a small easy to replace part it too was destroyed. your not telling me someone in the government wasnt getting kickbacks from GE! he said he hauled thousands of perfectly good appliances to the dump to be burried in his 30 year carreer and it went on not only in his shop but base wide. said he saw perfectly good cars and trucks go there to be destroyed. i didnt get that from fox news or nsnbc i got it from my father and senior officers that actually saw this waste of our tax dollars. that was only one base. multiply it by all the bases for all the services around the world and i cant imagine all the tax money that was wasted! my guess is if they only paid 5k per hammer it was cheap in comparison to parts to keep planes in the air!!!!!!!!!!!
