Next under the gun..
« on: March 12, 2025, 06:41:16 AM »
Next government agency under the gun is the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA)

  The NEA sets itself up as the arbiter of art works in our nation.  They are often at loggerheads with much of the public..
   (public=those who contribute $210 million) to their fun & games.

  I have been in the arts (Forging steel) for many years, and I say "shut them down"..for the following reasons;

 1) If an artist is producing art, no reason for government funds to be involved.

 2) If his/her art doesn't sell itself, he/she should find another vocation...or hand it out for free.

 3) No government agency should try to dictate what "art" consists of...let the public decide that ! Govt agencies tend to go political.

 4) from what we have recently learned, the NEA like other government agencies, should have it's expenditures closely checked..

 5) Through the years, the NEA has made a  habit of paying for very offensive material, as seen below.

   Shut them down !

Art took its first step into BS, when Wassily Kandinsky: The Father of Abstract Art created his first asine painting back in 1906.

After that one could just throw paint at a canvas and call it art.

To bad he and Hunter Biden could not have a contest for the most asinine canvas.

Agreed Bob;

     Those paint splashes or cultivated junk piles must have some kind of a tax escape involved..otherwise no need to buy them.

  Here's a beautiful sculpture set  up in Boston to honor MLK and his wife.  ..But please don't ask me to describe it in polite company.

   ...Wanna take a shot at describing it ?

   No reflection upon MLK or wife...but I find it somehow repulsive. It's called "The Embrace" and only cost $10 million.

I'm sure lots of fraud within the NEA, just like all the government agencies.

Does the NEA also operate NPR and PBS?  If so with private companies doing almost the same thing, like Discovery, A&E, History, etc, why continue to fund them?  Either make them public or just shut them down.

Yes, both get money from the NEA.

Really sad how both NPR and PBS have totally turned into Far Left political and whack job type artists to such a huge degree.
NPR is far, far worse than PBS, as I like the British TV shows on PBS.
