One thing in common is the mayors of those cities are all democrats. Thought possibly they were also all black but Mike Duggan of Detroit is a white guy. I'm sure they are all anti gun democrats.

I was surprised Chicago wasn't in the top five.

Chicago probably has more numbers, but they also have a greater population.  The list given is crime per 100,000 people.  Birmingham is most dangerous at night.

A gas company crew was repairing a gas leak and a kid with a gun came up and robbed them of their wallets.  He was told if his gun went off it would ignite a big fire.  He didn't care.  The gas company repairs leaks at night to avoid traffic problems.  So now they get a police officer to be present at every gas leak.

Gas leaks are graded 1,2, and 3.  1 has to be repaired immediately as it could cause a fire or explosion.  Grade 2 is gas is present but in below flammable mix, but has to be repaired and can be scheduled repair.  Grade 3 is a tiny wiff of leak, non flamable, but has to be repaired or monitored until a repair can be scheduled.  This is nationwide.  Crew was on a grade 2 leak.  Leaks are really hard to pinpoint around gas stations.

Most whites moved out of Birmingham into surrounding towns and suburbs starting in the 1960's.  Counting Birmingham and the surrounding cities and suburbs, there is about 1 million people in that area say within 30-40 miles of downtown Birmingham.   This is true with most big cities.  Huntsville has passed Birmingham as Alabama's largest city.  Huntsville is the most educated city in America.  Lots of engineers.  A lot of German descendants there too.

LOL they make the list often. Just got edged out this time around. One thing most of them have in common is the majority of the residents of those cities are Black, and or Liberal. There are exceptions like Portland, but they fit the other similarity. Huge majority are Leftist Liberals.

Birmingham tops the list now, and their Black population is 68% I think the White population is around 25%. The rest is made up of so called other groups. I'm not being racist, but simply showing that when most big cities  are controlled by leftists, and especially Black leftists, you gonna have a BIG violent crime problem. FBI stats show this.

My late wife's cousin lives in B'ham.  They were real close but the woman is an arch typical liberal college professor. I still have a lot of fun baiting her...  🤭

Keep in mind, stats are kept concerning those crimes that are REPORTED..  I understand that some cities are less likely than others to report actual
  crime figures.

Over 10,000 crimes are prevented by CC holders before police arrive.  99% never have to fire their gun.

And, many times crimes stopped by a gun wielder go unreported…

Stl Louis has been a slough for many decades from well back in the 20th Century; what happened in Detroit, far, far more recent.

I was there is the Nineties, and it is a totally different city now, although the rot had started in the nineties.
